I am an Ivy League graduate. I am in my mid-30s. I am a serious fellow, and I've been on the national and local TV news giving unpaid and unsolicited financial market commentary; also been in major national newspapers and magazines doing the same. Most recently, I was quoted in AARP magazine. There is nothing being hidden about this car, as so many people do. You don't get 100% positive feedback over 11 years of registration by hiding things. If there is something you should know about this car of which I am aware, it's available to you in the auction. I go out of my way to make sure people are satisfied. Look at my specific feedback...look how the guy who bought the truck recently said, "You can trust Seth with your eyes closed." I work hard to make sure I get comments like that; I don't take it lightly, and it means a tremendous amount to me. I look forward to getting to know you if you'd like me to (or if you'd like to buy the car without me getting to know you, that's OK too!)! The car: You are bidding on a 1992 Mazda Miata MX-5 Convertible with a 5-speed Manual Transmission. The car runs smoothly and drives fine. Every gear on the transmission shifts as it should, including reverse. The clutch feels good and correct. The brakes feel good and correct, with some minimal warping of the rotors you can sometimes feel in a very slight pulse on your foot, sometimes (not always). That is not an exaggeration...most people wouldn't even notice it, but I point it out to be thorough. The AC is not blowing cold. The heater works. This is nearly a 20 year old car and, although I've driven it thousands of miles and it's never let me down and is reliable, it is not perfect! It rattles here and there as most convertibles do. It doesn't drive like a fluffy luxury car...it has a stiff suspension. You can definitely drive across the country right now. It needs nothing to do that, except insurance and registration. This Miata comes with a clean and clear Florida title and multiple keys including an original Mazda key. The automatic up-down/autohide feature of the headlights works. The jack, jack handle, lug wrench, and spare tire are present. The car has an old school aftermarket old school AM-FM-CD player which does play the radio but doesn't sound all that great. Wipers and all lights work, except for interior courtesy lights which I think need new bulbs. The cigarette lighter is present and the socket works which is necessary these days to charge your cell phone. I never smoked in the car. The Air Bag light continually flashes. If you are curious as to how many times it flashes in its cycle, I think it's 10. To verify that, please count it in the video. Dashboard lights work. The instrument cluster bezel is cracked and doesn't fit perfectly. The licence plate surround plastic is not present on the car. The car does come with two sections of surround plastics that are half of two cracked plastics from different cars. Those could theoretically be epoxied together and made into one. The right side interior door panel is a bit loose and needs new plastic mounting snaps. The convertible top is as pictured...shrunken, patched, old, yet basically functional. The top frame is fine. The top vinyl is like the paint...it really has some kind of a cheap paint job that looks OK from about 10 feet. It's not peeling, flaking and doesn't have a clearcoat that's going bad, but rather it just doesn't look really super glossy the way you might want. On the top, occasionally a screw/bolt will start to rattle loose here or there and you have to tighten it back up which takes 10-15 seconds. Any older convertible is like that. It has its quirks but it's still a very cool and reliable car. I am not exaggerating to say I'd drive it 3,000 miles straight through right now without hesitation and I am not a risk-taking, thrill-seeking driver. Oh, by the way, Miatas have an amazing history you should read about sometime, going back all the way to an idea in 1976...it was born out of an internal design competition at Mazda, modeled after several famous and expensive (though fairly unreliable!) British sports cars. Unlike those British ancestors, Miatas are known to be extremely reliable. This Miata is no exception. You'll enjoy it. -- no reserve -- no reserve -- no reserve -- no reserve -- no reserve -- NO MINIMUM BID -- THE TOP BIDDER WINS Use the combination of the photos, videos and text for full disclosure, with more emphasis on the photos and videos as the description is clearly not intended to be exhaustive. As eBay says, a single picture is worth a thousand words. They strongly recommend the best practice of providing as many photos as possible and let the photos do the talking, rather than trying to describe in words what can be seen in a photo or trying to recreate in words what already is in provided photos. I have been registered on eBay for close to 11 years and have 100% positive feedback. Any questions, message me through the eBay messaging system, and I will answer promptly, or you can call me at (Five-Six-One) Three-76-Two-Two-Seven-Nine. The following slideshow automatically displays the first 100 of the ~315 available pictures. That's just a Photo Bucket limitation...to view the rest of them, right-click on the "View all" at the bottom right of the slideshow and select open in new tab or window: The first video is a walkaround, door open-close demonstration, instrument cluster test sequence, etc.: The second video is a road test: AUCTION RULES: Full payment is due within within 7 calendar days of auction ending by either cash in-person or bank wire only. (Once you receive a fraudulent cashier's check from a buyer, you'll never accept another one either!) Pickup is also due within 14 calendar days, and may not occur until funds have cleared. Storage for the first 14 days is FREE. There is a storage charge of $150/week beyond 14 days, and is limited to 2 extra weeks (for a total of 4 weeks of storage). You must read the entire auction description, follow the rules, and study each picture and video fully. Someone asked me whether I do not offer any kind of a warranty on anything that I sell, ever, as a matter of policy -- this car is As Is with no warranty. -- no reserve -- no reserve -- no reserve -- no reserve -- no reserve -- * * * NO MINIMUM BID -- THE TOP BIDDER WINS * * *On Feb-26-11 at 21:58:19 PST, seller added the following information: You'll notice in the video that the stereo was not turning on. It might be the end of its useful life. Assume it's not working, although I don't know if it's the fuse or something simple. Either way, not a big loss because it's probably a $30 stereo.
