USED AND WE ARE UNSURE ABOUT WHAT PARTS WERE REWORKED OF THIS 1982 SUZUKI GS550 L. WE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THIS BIKE EXCEPT IT WAS OWNED MY A HARLEY MECHANIC AND IT HAS BEEN NOTICED THAT OTHER EXTRA OLD PARTS WERE PACKED IN BOXES. ENGINE HAD BEEN OVER HAULED. THE MOTORCYCLE WAS PICKED UP FROM PA AND BROUGHT TO FLORIDA. GREAT FOR YOU IF YOU LIKE TO RIDE A VINTAGE. WE LAST RAN THE BIKE THIS PAST JULY 2010, BUT COULDN'T FIND ANYONE ELSE TO KEEP RIDING IT. NEW BATTERY. NO LEAKS OF OIL, NOR GAS LEAKS AS WE KNOW. HAS FLUIDS BUT NOT SURE WHEN LAST CHANGED, INCLUDING OIL. LIGHTS, AND TURNING SIGNALS ARE WORKING BUT SIGNALS SEEM TO BE SLOW WHEN BLINKING.(NOT SURE IF THIS IS NORMAL) HORN SOUNDS BAD AND SOMETIMES CAN'T HEAR IT. INCLUDES: CLEAN TITLE AND (NEW) MECHANIC REPAIR BOOK.(I TOOK THE WRAPPING OFF BOOK TO LEARN ABOUT THE BIKE. HAS TWO DIFFERENT KEYS,ONE TO START THE BIKE AND ONE KEY TO OPEN THE SEAT. TIRES LOOK GOOD, NO CRACKS. SEAT COVER -GOOD CONDITION CLUTCH SEEMS TO BE WORKING SINCE LAST TEST RIDE. BRAKES WERE WORKING SINCE LAST TEST RIDE. HAS SOME RUST HERE AND THERE. LOOK AT PICTURES CLOSELY. THE GAS TANK DECAL ARE FADING AND STARTED TO PEEL. RECENTLY TURNED ON WITH THE HELP OF CARB. CLEANER, BUT DOESN'T STAY ON. NEEDS TLC WHO KNOWS ABOUT THIS BIKE. GREAT FOR A VINTAGE COLLECTOR! GREAT FOR A PROJECT FOR BIKE WEEK!! GREAT FOR A BEGINNER RIDER!! The 1982 GS550L had metal front disc reservoir instead of white plastic on earlier model years. The rear disc brake was changed to drum brake and , and the dual front discs were replaced with a single disc. Pin striping on the tank and sidecovers was very unique to this year. No longer a continuous loop.
