Vehicle Detail
This is a garage kept 1955 Ford Customline up for auction. 292 Y-Block engine, 2 speed Fordomatic transmission. Mileage unknown. Engine & transmission have been overhauled. Runs great, could be a daily driver. Newer carpet and upholstery. Has stereo system with iPod plug. All glass in great shape except passenger rear quarter window has spider crack (as shown in photo). Little bit of rust here and there at the bottom of the door edges which is to be expected in a 60 year old car, floors are solid. The interior floor, doors, roof and trunk have been completely covered in DynoMat. New exhaust from headers to back. Front disc brakes. The doors open with brand new Autoloc door sellunoids with remote keychains. One button opens driver's side, other opens passenger. One button for trunk but the relay burned out for trunk when installing it. I have a couple spares but just haven't had the time or energy to do it. Otherwise, trunk opens with a button under dash that activates sellunoid in trunk and it works awesome. Engine has supposedly been rebuilt. My mechanic said that looks to be true. It's only a two speed tranny so it only shifts once and it shifts great. No power steering. Suspension is ok, looks like newer shocks. New bottom A-Arms and I have a new set of top A-Arms for it. As far as I know, the rear end gears are stock. At about 65 mph on the freeway it sounds like its wound out. It runs great on the freeway but it's lowered so it's a bit bouncy. If you've ever had a lowered car you'll understand what I'm talking about. It rails over speedbumps. Radiator mounts look great, not a spot of rust or deterioration. From the looks, it's probably been a CA car which as you know, we don't get much rain let alone snow. The weather stripping is gone and the stuff that's still left is shot. I do not have the wiper arms or the motor. It wasn't in the car when I bought it. Speedo doesn't work, might be the gear in the speedo itself, not sure. Turn signal work in rear, no signals in front, still has stock horns but not hooked up. I have original steering wheel if you'd like to have it and new top A arms that are not installed. There's some sort of draw on the battery. I'm not sure if it's coming from the stereo or the door poppers but if you don't drive car for a week, the battery gets weak. If you drive it every other day, it's perfect. I have a battery disconnect that I installed so if I don't drive it for awhile I disconnect it and everything is fine. Current title and registered until April 2011 in California. *Item listed for sale locally, seller has right to cancel auction at any time. What you see in pictures is what you get.
