Well I'll start by saying I did not intend to sell this truck in non working order but seeing the listing for the one in Arizona I wanted people to know there is another one out there. So for the bidders who can't win that one they have another choice only mines manual. A little about me..I have a passion for restoring classic old car's and truck's. This is my hobby and I know my classic's well. I only buy original cars that have not changed hand's from there original owner's. Fortunatly my wife is a well known realator and she and her friend's and other broker's know to call me when they find a jewel at an upcoming estate sale. Now about the truck. The elderly gentlemen that owened and pampered this truck worked at Edwards Air Force Base in Lancaster California and lived a few miles away passed away in 2007. He left it to his neighbor in his will. Apperantly there were some kid's that didn't like the man and decided to take out there anger on the man's truck when they saw it outside for once cause the truck was alway's garaged. They cut one of the heater hose's, air fillter hose, front right brake line hose, alternator wire's battery to starter cable wire's, one spark plug wire, fan belt and put a baseball bat to the front windshield and right turn signal lens. Oh they also spray painted a number 6 on the right rear bed.Kid's.... ? Then the neighbor parked it in his back yard where it sat for 4 year's till I was called. These are all easy fixe's. I have been super busy with work lately and have had no time to work on the truck. And when I noticed the white 66 truck just like this one on e-bay I gave her a quick bath(bed is still dirty) and took some picture's. My intention is to restore it and sell it. But I will let it go in this condition if the price is right. The truck is a J3000 with a 327 Vigilante engine and a 3 speed manual on the column has 56,387 miles on it and these are the Original miles. There were two receipt's in the truck one from a place called FedMart which I beleive does not exist any more and one for 4 new Remigton tire's for $200 can't make out the year but I want to guess 1987 were the mileage was hand writtin (54,106). There is also a oil change tag behind the sun visor were the mileage was at 5312 in the year 1973. I was told that he rarely drove it. But I can tell by just looking at it that in fact those are the accurate miles. The body is Super straight, I'm pretty sure it's never been in an accident (only one dent on right rear fender). The paint is factory original. The radio is factory original, The interior is factory original and I beleive the spare tire is factory original too. Pretty much every nut and bolt is factory original. Only add on I saw was a electric fuel pump and regulator. There is only surface rust on the truck and as far as I know it seem's to me that the man himself was attempting to do some body work on the left side of the bed. (there is also a hand written paper in one of the manual's about dwell ajustment and how to set engine timing with a timing light) again I think he was going to change the point's maybe. What I did other than wash it quickly.. Removed the back bumper (was bent,still have it). Registered it and have current registration and title. (it was last registered and driven in 1991). So a breif break down... This is a Super, Rare Super Straight, Super Original Find, that need's the work mentioned above to run. Like I said I will let it go for the right price and in no hurry to sell it. I am only posting her to show people that there is another original out there.
