Here for your consideration 1972 Vintage Triumph Bonneville 650 T120R With Jawa/Velorex Sidecar & bonnet This bike has 2877 original miles. Original paint, unmolested bike! Kept inside its entire life. Excellent mechanical & physical condition perfect working order, starts up...no choke!Great for the collector, Club & weekend rides or, dependable daily rider. Other than two small dents in the top of the tank, one chip on the front fender, some black paint worn at the key area of the frame, it's in Excellent condition! The chrome is perfect! ~The T120R Model is a desirable motor bike~ I purchased this bike from it's original owner. He said the side car has been on the bike its entire life, hence the original low miles. Statistically, bikes with side cars have less miles. The rear tire is extra large and knobby to give more traction for the extra weight. It has an oil cooler and a 56 tooth rear sprocket for extra torque. It is professionally set up correctly for the side car application. The Bonneville model was named after the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, where many motorcycle makers tested the top speed of their bikes. The T120 Bonneville was introduced in 1959 and enjoyed a long production run until it was overtaken by the larger Bonneville T140 in the 1970s. When first introduced, the Bonneville was based on the Triumph Tiger, and was gradually improved each year to stay competitive with its rivals. Engine The engine in the 1972 Bonneville T120R was a four-stroke parallel twin cylinder of 649 cubic centimeters, or 39.6 cubic inches. This was an overhead valve (OHV) engine that had two valves, one intake and one exhaust, per cylinder. Horsepower output was 49 at 7,200 rpm. Cylinder bore was 71mm and crankshaft stroke was 82mm. Fuel delivery was by twin carburetors. The compression ratio was 9.0:1. The cylinders had cooling fins on the outside. Air was forced around the fins when the bike was moving to keep the engine cool. Mechanical The Bonneville T120 had a four-speed manual transmission. Both front and rear wheels contained drum brakes with internally expanding brake shoes that were cable operated. Starting was by a kick-starter. The front suspension was by twin oil-filled forks. The rear suspension was by a swing arm suspended by two chrome coil-over shock-absorbers. Final drive from the transmission to the rear wheel was an adjustable chain. The front wheel was 19 inches in diameter and the standard tire was a 3.25 by 19. The rear wheel was 18 inches in diameter with a 4.00 by 18 tire as standard. General Information The Bonneville T120R is considered a classically styled motorcycle with chrome-spoke wheels, twin swept-back chrome exhaust pipes and polished aluminum engine covers. The frame was a singular tube that came down in front of the engine, then split off into two tubes to cradle the engine. Top speed was approximately 109.4 miles per hour. The fuel tank capacity was 4.76 gallons. The curb weight, or weight with tool kit, oil and gas was 423.3 pounds.
