Vehicle Detail
I've finally come to the conclusion that I will never finish this car, so it's time to sell it and move on. I bought it in 1992 on a sentimental impulse. I owned one in the 60's when I was in the Air Force and have always thought it was a classy car. It’s a complete all original 53K mile Arizona car. It has the 352 cu in engine, auto trans, air conditioning, PS, PB, Power windows and Power driver’s seat. It was a running and driving car when I bought it. I removed the seats to replace the carpet. I actually have two sets of carpet as the first set was too dark green for my taste. The second set is more aqua and seems to compliment the interior better. While I had the seats out I decided to have them redone in the original aqua and cream vinyl material. I also replaced the padded dash. Right now the front seats are just sitting in the car folded down waiting for me to replace the dark green carpet with the aqua carpet. The rear seat is installed. The dash installation is almost done. The headliner is in good condition and has no tears. The door panels aren’t trashed but should be replaced. All the interior chrome is in good condition. All the glass is in good condition except for a little divot about the size of a pea in the center of the front windshield. The tires are vintage 1968 bought at Penny’s of all places! The exterior of the vehicle is in pretty good condition. The paint is dull and might even polish up to look ok. As far as body damage goes, there is a vertical crease in the right rear quarter above the wheel well and a small dent in the right rear tail fin. Otherwise, the body is straight and solid. The floor pans and trunk pan are solid with only surface rust. I have many pictures of the undercarriage if you would like to see them. I have all 4 wheel covers. I have not started this car since 1992 but the engine is not seized. I routinely rotate the engine by hand. This car has been kept inside in my shop for 19 years. No sun, no rain and no rodent damage. The car comes with the following new parts: New brake shoes front and rear New wheel cylinders front and rear New flexible brake lines front and rear All New brake shoe hardware Rebuild kit for the master cylinder New Trunk Mat New Exide original equipment battery (has never had acid in it) New Ford script preformed upper and lower radiator hoses 2 Complete and New sets of carpet A Complete Engine Overhaul Gasket Set for Ford FE engines A Box of Aqua Windlace New Kick Panels A New 1959 Thunderbird License Frame A New Thunderbird Fender Protector 2 Complete Sets of Rubber Floor Mats 1950-65 Ford Products Interchange Manual 1992 Edition Concours Rules Owner's Manual (Reprint) Build Sheet Replacement Glove Box Window Sticker Air Cleaner Decal I have a lot more in this car than the asking price. I don't have to sell, I'm just trying to recover some of my investment and move on. If you need more information on the car, feel free to call me. I'm a gearhead, just like you. I would be willing to consider near offers. I'm reasonable but no checks, no stories, just cash. Thanks. 719-989-0728 On Jan-28-11 at 08:37:05 PST, seller added the following information: I've finally come to the conclusion that I will never finish this car, so it's time to sell it and move on.
