I am an Ivy League graduate. I am in my mid-30s. I am a serious fellow, and I've been on the national and local TV news giving unpaid and unsolicited financial market commentary; also been in major national newspapers and magazines doing the same. Most recently, I was quoted in AARP magazine. There is nothing being hidden about this car, as so many people do. You don't get 100% positive feedback over 11 years of registration by hiding things. If there is something you should know about this car of which I am aware, it's available to you in the auction. I go out of my way to make sure people are satisfied. Look at my specific feedback...look how the guy who bought the truck recently said, "You can trust Seth with your eyes closed." I work hard to make sure I get comments like that; I don't take it lightly, and it means a tremendous amount to me. I look forward to getting to know you if you'd like me to (or if you'd like to buy the car without me getting to know you, that's OK too!)! The truck: You are bidding on a 1966 Ford Twin I-Beam F-100 Pickup Truck. The truck runs super smoothly and drives fine. You can see in the video that I take it on the road, although it's not quite road worthy. First of all, the main fuel tank is not connected. instead there's a supplemental temporary tank installed in the engine compartment that's just being held in with some metal wire. The main tank can be used once you flush fuel through a bunch to clear out particulates. Secondly, sometimes the truck stalls and doesn't want to start up -- it'll need a carburetor rebuild or adjustments. It also doesn't run without the choke being pulled out all the way, and then the engine "idles" much too fast. I put "idle" in quotes because it's really not idling. It's probably running at 3,500 RPM or something obviously way too high. I haven't done any type of safety inspection on the truck and the tires appear to be OK from a casual glance, but I'm sure they're old. And the brake system too hasn't been checked for reliability and effectiveness, other than me just driving it slowly and pushing on the brakes and, yes, they stop the truck under those conditions. Something that may or may not be visible in the videos (it should be in the walkaround video where I demonstrate door operation, tail gate operation, etc.) is that the driver's side door doesn't close properly. It seems the hinges are bent or the door is bent because it binds against the fender. This is a 45 year old truck that needs work to be safe, roadworthy and reliable. You can't drive it home. It would be a safety issue for me to allow you to do that. If you are going to start it up to drive it onto a trailer, you'll need to bring your own battery because this truck does not come with the battery as pictured. That being said, for a 45 year old truck, this truck is quite solid in many ways. The tail gate operates as you'll see in one of the videos, which is nice, it starts up, shifts through all the gears, stops, and is a great candidate to be turned into a daily driver with minimal work. It even comes with a nicely fitting bedliner. -- no reserve -- no reserve -- no reserve -- no reserve -- no reserve -- NO MINIMUM BID -- THE TOP BIDDER WINS Use the combination of the photos, videos and text for full disclosure, with more emphasis on the photos and videos as the description is clearly not intended to be exhaustive. As eBay says, a single picture is worth a thousand words. They strongly recommend the best practice of providing as many photos as possible and let the photos do the talking, rather than trying to describe in words what can be seen in a photo or trying to recreate in words what already is in provided photos. I have been registered on eBay for close to 11 years and have 100% positive feedback. Any questions, message me through the eBay messaging system, and I will answer promptly, or you can call me at (Five-Six-One) Three-76-Two-Two-Seven-Nine. The following slideshow automatically displays the first 100 of the ~600 available pictures. That's just a Photo Bucket limitation...to view the rest of them, right-click on the "View all" at the bottom right of the slideshow and select open in new tab or window: (videos willl be posted below in an auction revision...they are not finished uploading yet.) AUCTION RULES: Full payment is due within within 7 calendar days of auction ending by either cash in-person or bank wire only. (Once you receive a fraudulent cashier's check from a buyer, you'll never accept another one either!) Pickup is also due within 14 calendar days, and may not occur until funds have cleared. Storage for the first 14 days is FREE. There is a storage charge of $150/week beyond 14 days, and is limited to 2 extra weeks (for a total of 4 weeks of storage). You must read the entire auction description, follow the rules, and study each picture and video fully. Someone asked me whether I do not offer any kind of a warranty on anything that I sell, ever, as a matter of policy -- this car is As Is with no warranty. -- no reserve -- no reserve -- no reserve -- no reserve -- no reserve -- * * * NO MINIMUM BID -- THE TOP BIDDER WINS * * * Here is the first video I promised you. It's the first startup the truck had in a couple months, and I walk around the truck a bit, show you the engine, etc. You can hear clearly the engine is running way too fast, so, again the carburetor will probably have to be disassembled and cleaned/rebuilt. If you turn the choke off, which starts to lower the engine speed as you'd expect, the engine will stall. So, it's a balancing act of trying to get the choke perfectly positioned so it doesn't run too fast, but still will run. It's a quiet engine, but until I switch to 2nd gear and 3rd gear on the road in the video you don't hear how quiet it is. At that point though, you do hear how quietly it runs, because the engine probably drops down to 900 or 1,000 RPM. So, here's the first of two videos: Here is the second video of the F-100 Custom Cab truck. It is a general walkaround and shows you doors operating, various perspectives, tail gate operation, etc. Some parts and original print advertisement included: I recently ordered 4 matching hub caps (wheel covers) that are in transit to me. They are included with the auction. I will mount them on the truck and take photographs, or at least take photographs of the 4 hub caps when they arrive without mounting them. So, you will get a total of six (6) Ford hub caps with the auction. On Feb-17-11 at 22:29:13 PST, seller added the following information: I am a Private Seller, not a Dealer, as mistakenly indicated above. On Feb-22-11 at 08:39:59 PST, seller added the following information: The additional four (4) hubcaps arrived. I am not available to take a picture of them. But they are in good condition, all matching. They are not the precise year for this truck, but they are still vintage Ford and will fit nicely and look really good. So, again, you'll get a total of six (6) wheel covers with the auction, including the two pictured in the photos.
