Vehicle Detail

Up for your consideration is this sweet little 1964 classic Corvair Monza coupe with 68000 actual miles, Vin # 40927W125919. This 1964 Chevrolet Monza Coupe is in very nice condition and is a dream to drive. The car gets comments and thumbs up everywhere you go. It runs great and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere in the country. It is in great condition and is ready to enjoy turn key. This Corvair was repainted in 2009 with the color code correct Ember Red paint. Needless to say, there are no chips in the paint. It also received a new Clarks interior and carpets at that time which also included a new padded dash and rear view mirror. It has a correct working radio with new speakers front and rear. Recently replaced items include the brake shoes, wheel cylinders, all 4 brake hoses, sway bar bushings, the drums turned, new fuel tank sending unit, pitman arm bushing and 4 new shocks. The transaxle was disassembled and rebuilt with new rollers in the gearbox and differential, resealed and synthetic lube, new clutch/pilot bushing. It has new universal joints and the rear wheel bearings were cleaned/ inspected and repacked with synthetic grease. The engine has been removed, resealed and cleaned with a new blower bearing, Viton o-rings, oil cooler and main seals front and rear. The cylinder heads were not pulled. Also, all of the rubber perimeter seals are new. The dual exhaust note has a nice throaty sound and the car has refurbished 140hp manifolds with stainless hardware and correct muffler mounts. The fuel system has been cleaned and an auxiliary fuel filter installed in the rear. Both carbs have been rebuilt and re-jetted with 52 main jets. Also a pertronix electronic ignition has been fitted. It is basically a very nice South Carolina only car that had been sitting for 25 years. It had some leaves in the cowl causing a couple of rust issues which have all been corrected. The body was sanded to the original paint and primed with epoxy primer then blocked before the paint and clear coat was applied. The car had a few issues with rust in the left front fender near the Monza emblem in 3 small areas from leaves in the cowl. The rust was cut out with a plasma cutter and Mig welded in new sections, backing up the repair with POR 15. The cowl under the dash was fiberglassed and the trunk floor was replaced with a new one from Clarks. Also, there is now a fitted aluminum gutter screen to prevent leaves from entering the cowl again. All the glass was removed and all the seals and gaskets were replaced with NOS or Clarks. The front and rear bumpers have been re-chromed. The door handles have been re-chromed. The tail light lenses are NOS.All electrical works as they should including the lights, gauges, heater and radio. A few small issues: There is a small chip in the windshield near the rear view mirror. There are some minor paint blemishes in the center of the roof. Also, the right door has a little wavy spot down low. There are some minor scratches on the rear grille on the left side. Other than that, the car looks great and runs even better.
