JUST IN TIME FOR SPRING! (If the prospect of driving this car won't get you through the winter, nothing will.) 1977 MG Midget with < 28,000 Original Miles! This classic little car has wonderful karma . . . driving it, you feel 30 years younger and 30 pounds lighter . It's been stored indoors, ‘on the blocks’ for 20 years and when not garaged, gently driven by it's surrogate Mother. Original stock interior except for the radio. · New top · New windscreen (er, 'windshield' here in the colonies) · New tires · Newer battery · Newer paint Mechanically superb specimen maintained since July 2008 by the local MG Car Club President. Recently replaced parts include: · Electric fuel pump · Rear brakes -- shoes & cylinders · Rear hub gaskets & oil seals · Clutch cylinder -- master & slave · Brake hoses -- front, rear & clutch With a bit of cosmetic TLC this car could be show quality! I wouldn’t be selling it but for a lack of space. Sold 'As Is.' Payment must be made within three days of purchase. You may pick it up in sunny Melbourne, FL or I can help arrange for shipping. Please ask questions before bidding. Thanks and Good Luck!On Feb-04-11 at 12:54:11 PST, seller added the following information:A couple of people have asked me about the “warped” front bumper or if there has ever been any body damage to the car: Although I've had the car for 30+ years, I am not the original owner; it had about 4,000 miles on it when I bought it. In my possession it's had a minor parking lot skirmish which has been repaired. Some years ago, the right front fender was wrinkled then replaced because it was just easier than bumping it out. The repair was cosmetic, not structural. The valence underneath the fender isn’t completely straight and the hood doesn’t fit perfectly (as shown in the pic), but it opens and closes just fine. The car drives straight and handles as well as any MG Midget should. Overall, the metal has a few dings here 'n there, but its overall condition is very good, especially for an unrestored car that is 34 years old! Also, I have an envelope with various maintenance receipts that I will include with the car. I also have a Florida Certificate of Title dated August 2002 that verifies that the car’s original mileage as of that date was 25,400. If you would like to drive/examine the car, or arrange for a local mechanic of your choice to do so (at your expense), I would be glad to make the car available. I will post some additional pics tomorrow.
