It has been refreshed and renewed to its initial glory, every nut, bolt, clip, staple, screw, and panel was removed, refurbished or replaced. This Jaguar underwent a full body off frame restoration. The current owner spared no time or expense in creating the beauty offered to you. Health problems are the only reason for the very reluctant sale. This Jaguar is currently licensed and registered in the state of California. While it does carry a Salvaged Title, this car still a great piece of eye candy. The car was a recovered theft and the only damage was to the interior and wiring. As the photos show, everything has been corrected. A pure joy to drive, this Jag runs great. The engine purrs smoothly and the car handles like a true 70's European sports car. With the top down cruising along the freeway, the smooth vibration and hum from the engine, combined with the thumbs up and stares from onlookers make you feel like an vintage car racer. Production Information Number produced: 3,370 The History By the 1960's the Jaguar Company had built a reputation for producing both sporting sedans and some of the best looking sports cars ever. The XK 120-140-150 series set a high standard for excellent performance, great looks and affordable prices, but the sports car world was rocked by the appearance of the spectacular E-type in 1961. Using design elements developed with the racing C and D Type models, the E-type (known in the U.S. as the XKE) was originally produced in both closed coupe and open two-seat roadster versions. The Series 1 (1961-67) versions were produced with 3.8L (’61-’64) and a 4.2L (’65-’70) inline six-cylinder engine that carried the racing lineage back to 1948. The U.S. market was extremely important to Jaguar and as U.S. federal safety and emissions regulations evolved, the company made changes in both design and engineering details. The 1968 Series “1 ½” brought raised headlights without the sleek glass covers of the earlier models and an interior redesigned for greater crash safety, along with other changes. The Series 2 arrived in 1969 and brought relocated bumpers, larger taillights, a much larger front air intake, a glove box door, headrests, larger cooling system, revised emissions controls and, for the U.S. market, twin Stromberg carburetors to replace the home market triple SUs. The featured 1970 roadster before you represents the last year of the six-cylinder Jaguar E-type. Emissions-related power losses led to replacement of the six with a V-12 in 1971. 1970 Jaguar XKE Roadster. Rescued from the hands of a car theif, this Jaguar has seen a rebirth. It has been refreshed and renewed to its initial glory, every nut, bolt, clip, staple, screw, and panel was removed, refurbished or replaced. This Jaguar underwent a full body off frame restoration. The current owner spared no time or expense in creating the beauty offered to you. Health problems are the only reason for the very reluctant sale. This Jaguar is currently licensed and registered in the state of California. While it does carry a Salvaged Title, this car still a great piece of eye candy. The History

By the 1960's the Jaguar Company had built a reputation for producing both sporting sedans and some of the best looking sports cars ever. The XK 120-140-150 series set a high standard for excellent performance, great looks and affordable prices, but the sports car world was rocked by the appearance of the spectacular E-type in 1961.

Using design elements developed with the racing C and D Type models, the E-type (known in the U.S. as the XKE) was originally produced in both closed coupe and open two-seat roadster versions.

The Series 1 (1961-67) versions were produced with 3.8L (’61-’64) and a 4.2L (’65-’70) inline six-cylinder engine that carried the racing lineage back to 1948.

The U.S. market was extremely important to Jaguar and as U.S. federal

safety and emissions regulations evolved, the company made changes in both design and engineering details.

The 1968 Series “1 ½” brought raised headlights without the sleek glass covers of the earlier models and an interior redesigned for greater crash safety, along with other changes.

The Series 2 arrived in 1969 and brought relocated bumpers, larger taillights, a much larger front air intake, a glove box door, headrests, larger cooling system, revised emissions controls and, for the U.S. market, twin Stromberg carburetors to replace the home market triple SUs.

The featured 1970 roadster before you represents the last year of the six-cylinder Jaguar E-type. Emissions-related power losses led to replacement of the six with a V-12 in 1971.

We are both a registered non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable corporation, and a licensed dealer in California. We sell cars that have been donated or consigned for sale through our vehicle program. All proceeds directly support cultural and educational activities provided by the museum to the Northern California community.
