A bit of a project car but FAR from being a junker. 1988 Corvette. I've had the car for about a year and a half. It was given to me by a customer as a thank you. It's got a good straight body, no rust, cracks and no accidents as far as I can tell. The paint has a few areas on the back upper sides and the hatch base for the rear window that the clear coat has come off. I was thinking that I would put rally stripes there and then down the front of the hood instead of painting the whole car. The rest of the paint is origional and in good shape. The interior is pretty darn good, no tears, fading or anything. The seats and doors are in great shape and don't show much wear...especially for it's age. The engine is rebuilt but the rings may not have set in because it smokes some, that or it's running rich. If it's the rings, I don't know if putting some miles on it would get them to seat or not. It starts right up and sounds good but smokes some when warmed up. The tranny shifts fine and works as it should. I was told the engine and tranny were new and I do see new parts and the engine looks like it has, so I have no reason to doubt my customers word. I drove it about 20 miles to my house since I got it. The a/c blows cold and the headlights work. The dash lights don't work properly so the only thing that works is the speedometer. There is a Pioneer stereo, wood dash and new Good Year Eagle GS-C tires. Because of the engine smoking, I cannot sell the car to California residents. It will not pass smog. The car sits stored in my carport. I pull it out to run it to operating temprature and wash it each month when I'm home from a trip. So a short recap: 1) The engine is newly rebuilt but smokes some 2) The dash doesn't work properly (300.00 on Ebay) 3) There are a couple spots on the paint where the clear coat came off This is a nice car and with some time and money could be a VERY nice car. The body is perfect, no dents or dings, the interior is in very good condition compared to most cars it's age. I would love to turn it into a jewel and use it, but being a traveling captain and truck driver, I just don't have the time. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. You might call Firestone (who does safety checks) and ask if an engine smokes some, will it pass a safety check. Like I said in the ad, I don't know if it smokes because the rings didn't set right or if it's running rich. I haven't had the time to work on it and I am only selling it because the wife is tired of hearing about me fixing it up one day. Plus she wants the carport to use. There is no rust and the title is clear. Also in the ad. As for your price, my asking price/buy it now price is more than fair. I have taken in consideration the cost to fix it up and what the market will bring if it's 100% perfect. There is still a few grand profit for the person who buys it at my price.
