Vehicle Detail

Selling 1984 FJ60 Landcruiser with 4 speed transmission. Factory "sky blue " paint with grey patterned cloth-type upholstery. just under 142000 miles(low for a Landcuiser of this vintage);Paint is very nice , except for the clearcoat lifting on the hood. Interior nice , except for side lower bolster tear on driver's seat: carpets a little grimy in places. Shod with 32/11.5R15 Goodrich All Terrain Comp TA radials , hardly worn;Recently replaced New Carburrettor, A/C compressor, Alternator, rear shocks, Alpine Stereo AM/FM/CD player with IPod input cable. Factory roof luggage rack. Very little off-road usage. Texas State Inspection till January 2012, just serviced. A/C blows cold, heater works well! Tinted windows ,trailer hitch. Runs and drives in great classic Landcruiser fashion; no rust! Paint is super except for bad clear-coat on hood; Clear Texas title, this FJ60 is in beautiful and mechanically sound condition, a very nice example of the Classic FJ60 Landcuiser. On Jan-24-11 at 08:28:54 PST, seller added the following information: To answer some of the many questions I have been asked:This is a July 1983 model of the FJ60The 4WD system works in both H4 and L4 modes: obviously the usual mode is L2, and it works fine. The locking hubs workNo electrical problems : there are are 2 toggle switches to the right of the steering column, not connected to anything: I don't know what they were used forPLEASE read the vehicle history, all 4 changes of ownership/title transfers are clearly noted there: looks that the original owner was in Louisiana, then this Cruiser ended up in Texas.Heater works well, as does the A/C, Alpine stereo and every thing else that is supposed to work, works.I am selling this Cruiser for a old friend of the family of 20 years( all our 3 kids went to the same school in Austin), and he is of an old Texas family, is very busy in the State of Texas beaurocracy, and has absolutely no time to deal with car stuff, so I do it for him, as I used to be in the car business ( I am the founder and previous owner of the Revolution Motors ) and am basically retired. He has had the cruiser since November 2008 and had all the necessary service and repairs done by one of Austin's Toyota dealerships; I will try and get copies from the dealership in the next couple of days. This is what I do know:brakes have been gone through. License plates belong to the owner/ temporary plates ( valid 1 month, cost $34) will allow Cruise to drive out-of-State.Radiator, Alternator, A:C compressor and carburretor have been replaced, has just passed Texas State Inspection( valid till January 2012) ,Alpine stereo with MP3/ IPOd input installed. This Cruiser drives really well, in the typical Landcruiser style( i.e. drives like a truck!). It should be able to drive long distance no problem. Please don't ask me sell this cruiser prior to the end of Auction-read the eBay rules: it would not be fair to the other bidders to do so.This a great Landcruiser, but it IS 27 years old, so please be realistic ! I invite buyers' checks-use the Internet to make the arrangements. I have nothing to hide, I just don't know everything!Call me at 512-750-1306 if you wishOn Jan-26-11 at 07:27:12 PST, seller added the following information: I have just received the available service history from my friend Bill for whom I am selling the Landcruiser: previous service work mentioned above(carburetor, A/C, Alternator, Alpine Stereo, tires was done by previous owner in the recent past, for which work I have no records. Bill had taken his previous FJ60 to an Austin Toyota dealership for mechanical work, hence my statement above on 24 January. This Landcruiser being sold has had, as you can see, few problems. He bought this Cruiser in November 20082/2/2009 at 136401 miles, had it serviced 12/20/2010 at 141501 miles had the radiator, thermostat and coolant replaced01/04/11 at 141562 miles passed Texas State InspectionThe metal plate under the fuel filler door on the right rear passenger (2 people have asked me this) appears to be a protection plate to prevent damage to the paintwork during fill-ups: it is made of heavy duty gauge steel ,as used on HD aftermarket rear bumpers on pick-ups. I have checked from behind with a flashlight, and there is NO sign of any rust: I would guess that this was a factory option, but I don't know-a FJ60 expert would probably know! This is all the information I have on this FJ60.
