A unique single year design for Ford, The stacked headlights, straight body lines and sleek appearance make this "truck" one nice platform for the utility musclecar. Don't let this one get away, these are getting harder to find........... Brought to you by the California Automobile Museum, Third Generation 1967 Ford Ranchero The History, The Ford Ranchero was a coupe utility produced between 1957 and 1979. Unlike a pickup truck, the Ranchero was adapted from a station wagon platform that integrated the cab and cargo bed into the body. A total of 508,355 units were produced during the model's production run. It was adapted from full-size, compact and intermediate automobiles by the Ford Motor Company for the North American market. Variations based on the original 1960 US Falcon for home markets in Argentina and South Africa were produced through the late 1980s. It sold well enough to spawn a competitor from General Motors in 1959, the Chevrolet El Camino. The 1967 Ranchero, based on the post-'66 Falcon/Fairlane chassis, used the basic 1966 Ranchero body with Fairlane trim, front sheet metal, and interior treatments instead of Falcon. This was a well-received and unique one-year vehicle, with clean, straight lines, dual stacked headlamps, and plenty of power; the Ranchero had entered the musclecar arena in 1967. Engine options started with a 200 cu in (3.3 L) straight-6 and went up to a 390 cu in (6.4 L) FE-series big-block V8 giving 315 bhp (234.9 kW) and backed by an optional C6 automatic, the new-for-1966 heavy duty variant of the C4. 1967 also saw the largest expansion of trim levels since the vehicle's introduction ten years prior. Supplmenting the base model were the new Ranchero 500, 500/XL and GT. The GT-A, Ford's label for '66 and '67 automatic transmission-equipped GTs given to both the Fairlane and Mustang, did not apply to the Ranchero. What did apply to all American cars in 1967 was the use of a dual-circuit braking system with a dual-chambered master cylinder. Increased awareness of passenger safety resulted in such innovations as safety-padded windshield pillars and an unusual 1967-only safety pad which protruded from the center of the three-spoked steering wheel to a point just beyond the rim of the steering wheel. It was designed to minimize abdominal injuries in the event of a collision. This Ranchero's description, This truck sports an amateur restoration that is a few years old. It's current owner has enjoyed it and used it prior to, during and after the restoration process. The current color this "truck" sports is a few shades darker than its original red. It is more af a purple maroon or a black cherry. While it does still shine when washed and waxed, it has marks of character along side its body and other surfaces. Although not abused, it has definitely been used as a "truck" was designed to be. Most of the marks of character where aquired during the numerous fishing expeditions and exploration expeditions taken on by the owner and his faithfull sidekick, the family dog. This truck comes equipped with a Uhaul installed receiver hitch and trailer wiring. It is believed to be a class 3 hitch but the largest thing ever towed was a 6 foot aluminum boat. The interior was restored a few years back. Done in the restoration was new carpet, door panels, dash, headliner, bench seat, and arm rests. There are signs of wear in the interior and there are rust stains on the new carpet from tools and misc. items that were left sitting. The over all body, frame, and floors are free from major rust and it is thought that this truck has been in California its entire life. The original engine has been replaced and the current engine is a rebuilt 302 in place of the 289. The "truck" has power steering and dual exhaust. There are dual Flowmaster mufflers and a set of headers with two 3 inch chrome tips angled out of the sides at the rear. The engine has a chrome dress up kit but is stock internally. Electronic ignition was added to the distributor and a holley 4 bbl carb. sits on top. All new belts, hoses and accessories were installed at the time of the rebuild and there is less than 500 miles on the engine since completion. The tires are new, brakes bearings, shocks, and bushings have been checked and replaced as necessary over the last year or so. This "truck" runs and is drivable but it will need some work. The known issues are as follows, the carb is oversized causing the engine to run extremely rich (4 bbl carb installed on a 2 bbl intake using an adapter), the power steering system has a leak, and the electrical inside ( blower motor, radio, cigarette lighter, etc) is not working. The lights do work. The "truck" recently suffered from an attempted theft rendering the electrical inoperable. There are several additional parts included in the purchase of this "truck" and it is unknown as to how, when, or why this truck carries a salvaged title. There does not appear to be any frame damage and it is believed that the extra door and fender give some insight into the possible reason as they have some damage present on them. Third Generation 1967 Ford Ranchero

The History,

The Ford Ranchero was a coupe utility produced between 1957 and 1979.

This Ranchero's description,

This truck sports an amateur restoration that is a few years old.
