Vehicle Detail
I have for sale a silver 2003 Saab 9-5 Linear with 2.3 liter turbo engine. The car is in great -- not showroom -- condition, except that it needs an engine. The engine just started knocking, and a couple different places listened to it and immediately said the engine needs to be replaced, or maybe rebuilt. I checked on the internet and figured out that you can identify the engine needed for this Saab by the 8th digit in the VIN, which is an E for this car. I looked around the ebay/internet and found that you can get this engine for about $1000 (or $1500 for the ones with lower mileage) and get it installed for about $500 (or $1000 at places more established). All the other bad: * The alternator makes noise, but it works fine. I have a new alternator that I bought in case the one in the car quit working. * There are a couple door dings on both sides of the car. * The bumpers have plenty of little scratches from people bumping it to parallel park. Look at photos carefully and you can see little scratches and door dings. They can only be seen when you are very close to vehicle. The value for this car is $5625 according to NADA and $5610 according to Kelly Bluebook. If you were to get the better sounding places to install the better sounding engines, that would mean that the car is worth $3000 as is. The bidding here starts at $999 with no reserve price. The buy it now price is $2000. Yes, I lowered these to sell this car! :) Also please contact me if you have a great deal on an engine and or installation of an engine, or if you have a fully working vehicle you are interested in trading. I can add / pass along that information in the auction. I may need that information myself in case the car doesn't sell. Thanks, Berlin I AM NOT GOING TO WIRE MONEY ANYWHERE!!! The engine started knocking when I was on vacation in Florida last week, and I cautiously drove it 1000 miles back to Washington, DC. It can probably drive to where you live . . . if you also take it easy.
