1962 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible “King Louie V” Complete Louis Vuitton Interior, Top & Boot House of Kolors Candy Tangerine Pearl Built by Detroit Customs Original 390 V8 Complete Rebuild Balanced/Blueprinted (less than 500 miles) Automatic 3-Speed Hydra-Matic Transmission Rust Free California Car/Never Hit Body 1000 Watt Powerbass 2X1 Custom Sound System Monitor GPS and DVD Full Custom Leather Wrapped Trunk With Subwoofer Clear Viewing Window Absolutely Flawless Showroom Condition "King Louie V" Just imagine the ending of the remake of Miami Vice, The Final Chapter. After a horrific car chase Tubs is succumbed in his final gun battle. The Pearly Gates of Heaven open and awaiting him is this gorgeous Tangerine Chariot. Detective Ricardo Tubbs, the venerable sidekick to Don Johnson in the 80’s hit TV Show “Miami Vice” drove a Cadillac Series 62 Convertible during the filming of the show as a contrast to the Ferrari wielding Crocket (Johnson). How cool would this wire wheeled battleship have looked cruising the causeways of Miami Beach. How cool would it look today cruising South Beach, New York City, Beverly Hills, San Francisco or the like. This is Classic meets Chic meets totally Outrageous. The meek need not apply. Calling all Movie Stars, Mega Athletes, Realtor Celebrities, Housewives of Orange County, Gangsta’s and Gangsters, Rappers and Rockers. You could be Mick Jagger or Kanye West (the Don of Louis Vuitton). Get in line to bid on “King Louie V”. All you need is a big personality because this baby begs attention wherever it goes. There is just something about these late 50’s early 60’s Cadillacs that are airplane”esque” in their presentation and the 62 is gaining in popularity because of that simple fact. The venerable 1959 and 1960 are almost too pronounced in comparison to the unique two year angle of the 1961 and 1962. The angled “winged” rear quarter-panels evoke the essence of the very first jet fighters, and the 62 takes on angles used in the F-100 Super Sabre Jet designed by North American Aviation. This gorgeous custom is a one of kind 1962 Cadillac Convertible named “King Louie V” constructed by Detroit Customs. The car was show quality designed for a celebrity utilizing all Special Ordered Genuine Louis Vuitton Monogram Pattern Egyptian Cotton – conv. top, interior, door panels, seats, top boot and trunk! All material is in as new condition (over $35k). The exterior paint is an amazing special edition House of Kolors Candy Tangerine Pearl ($25k) sporting the ultimate in mirror-like finish. Might we add the body panels were completely rust and bondo free before restoration. We cannot find any evidence or even a dent to the original metal anywhere in the body. The original body lines are all crisp and a perfect as we have ever seen on one of these 62 Classics. The color changes dramatically depending on the light of day or night. It is almost like every hour of the day the personality shifts and becomes more pronounced. The paint is STUNNING to say the least. The undercarriage is clean and completely rust and damage free. It is doubtful that this original chassic ever had more than 50 or 60K miles on it. It almost looks brand new. Sound comes from a premium 1000 Watt Powerbass 2X1 custom sound system with monitor GPS and DVD. Housed in the trunk this marvelous system is wrapped in high-quality leather from one end to the other. A Custom Cadillac logoized window fronts the massive Woofer to bring the trunk up to the same level of stunning that the exterior, interior and engine compartment all convey. The venerable heart of King Louis is a the original rebuilt balanced and blue printed 390 cid V8 engine rated at 325 horsepower, three-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission, independent front suspension with coil springs, live axle rear suspension with coil springs and four-wheel drum brakes; wheelbase: 129.5. Recently constructed by Detroit Customs, this 1962 Cadillac Convertible is like not other.. Less than 500 miles since the total restoration. The motor is topped off with an air cleaner accented with a hand air-brushed rendition of this very custom. The underbody is accented with tangerine neon lighting. Well over 150k invested including the rebuilt balanced 390V8 drive-train, all chrome and stainless plus a brand new set of 16” period correct Wire Cadillac Chrome Wheels with mid-sized white wall accent. If you like a 22” wheel scenario for a more modern look we have a gorgeous set of DUBS that originally were part of the build (see last picture in the set), they are available for swap with the wires or may be bought separately. One could potentially swap the wheels out for different kinds of shows and events. The car takes on two different personalities with each set of wheels. “King Louie V” runs and drives exceptionally and exudes quality and confidence. The King has been shown only a few times and has been a hit at every function attended. Again, Louie has been driven less than 500 miles since completion. All power accessories function perfectly, and the stereo system sounds simply amazing. The 1962 Cadillac has the perfect rear fin height and clean lines of a true classic....... the perfect car for a One of a kind collection, and offered at less than 50 percent of build expense..... Now is the time to be stepping into a classic like this before the market turns-around and starts running up again. A 1962 Cadillac in this type of body condition is getting harder and harder to find. This car was originally a Southern California car that was shipped to Detroit Customs for the ultimate in custom personal automotive perfection. This is one beautiful car with attention to detail that is hard to believe. I have many very detailed pictures, just send me your email address and I will forward to you as soon as possible.
