Meticulous records of this van have been kept Has a new dash A/C unit installed in 2007 (have all rcpts.) (van was equipped with factory air and it was replaced in 2007) Water pump was replaced to swamp cooler in 2005 Brake master cylinder replaced Dec 2008 Transmission service 2006 and 2010 Van water Pump replaced Jan. 2007 Power steering pump replaced Jan. 2007 Brake rotors replaced Aug. 2009 Starter Replaced July 2009 (has 3 year warranty) 8 glow plugs replaced Jan. 2005 New 15 gallon plastic water tank may 2005 New Water pump (sink) May 2005 Heavy Duty battery July 2007 The carpet looks very good still with the only exception of where a foot mat would go both driver and passenger side Very slight dash crack (remember its a 1984 van, a good one but still 1984) The little interior (interior roof & neato orange original cup holder lights) and exterior lights all work Doors seal tight Head lights, turn signals all work well, even cruise control works Currently primer, color any color you wish or leave as is Very little rust along upper gutter, very solid and sturdy built van The van starts and runs first time every time with no trouble, very strong and willing... its only issue is after the van has been shut off and re-started when warm, it often has sluggish acceleration (when it does this, I feather the fuel and its not an issue for me as I got used to it) after the sluggish acceleration (at light, or from parking lot, etc.) it goes right down the highway and may or may not be sluggish at the next light or stop. This is a warm start issue (again this van does not overheat) and it isn't happening at every warm start, if I let it sit for 1/2 hour or an hour or so while shopping or dining it is not slugglish at acceleration. This is worth mentioning as it is an issue and should be repaired as this is such a decent van with so much to offer. I start it and drive it the next day and it goes and goes with no sluggish acceleration on the first start. Expert says it is getting air in the lines somewhere. It does not seem to be a major issue as it runs very strong as long as you want to drive it on the first start (or if you let it get to cold start temp.), for hours and hours on a trip on the first start. We have driven it as is and enjoy this van very much. We have to cut down on our vehicles and are sad to see it go. Please read this auction and ask questions as it is a 1984 van and has the one mechanical issue we know of. Its great for camping and has gone on 4 hour trip recently without letting us down. Will tow for you and goes up hill about 55 without towing. 65mph on the freeway. We believe the mileage to be original due to the very good condition and how strong it runs. Its not perfect, it needs some old English oil on the woodwork, needs paint if you so desire, could use general upholstery cleaning, but its not a beater, its a pretty neat tow/camping van. Q:Do you know If it has had any bodywork/bondo on the bottom panels ? cause I'm looking for a older vehicle to restore? also has there been animals inside? thanks A: No body work no bondo at all this van has never been in an accident, look at the vehicle report above. Really I'd love to have painted it, it would look like a new van with a paint job, its just such a great find it pains me to tell everyone how great this van is. No pets have been kept in the van. No smells, no smoking either. The curtains are old, but an easy replacement if you wish. The windows are tinted so its up to you. It has clearly been loved and cared for. This is an excellent candidate for restoration, it won't take but some paint, two floor mats, and I'm glad you asked this question as you need to know the front seats need seat covers, but the foam is good and solid. Maybe upgrade to a stereo as the original, working AM radio is still in it. But if you want to stay original this is the "barn" find everyone looks for.
