Vehicle Detail
This is one of the most iconic cars of the muscle car error and by far the best year for the Road Runner. This is the last year of unbridled horsepower and the most refined of the generation one road runner body style. This very nice example is very nicely restorestored and 99 percent done. This car has under 100 miles since restoration. I spent a great deal of time and money to bring this car back to the condition it is in today. I started with a rust free calf car with all the original body panels still in place (even the floor boards). Even with this car being very solid and complete to start with I have put over $25,000 into a very detailed restoration. The car is on the GTS registry and I had it decoded by Galin so I could detail it out to the exact specs and options it came from the factory with. Because of health issues I can not finish the rest of the restoration (which could be done in anyones driveway) or enjoy this amazing car just as it is. About this car, it is an original Calf. car built in the LA factory with the California emmission package. It is very highly optioned for a Road Runner (many more options were made available in the Road Runner in 1970). This is an original limelight (sublime) car with black vinyl roof, flat black hood strip with matching go wing ( now back on the car). It also has the dust stripe across the side. This car has the original blinker indicater lights on ether side of the engine call out plate at the back of the hood. The interior features black vinyl bucket seats, original woodgrain stearing wheel with all the correct 1970 hardware is in the car ( a mint condition standard wheel with horn cover and Road Runner center cap also goes with the car all though the woodgrain is original to the car), P/S, P/B front disc (first year available for the Road Runner) automatic trans floorshifter with console, tic-toc-tach (freshly restored and installed), functioning Am/ 8 track radio, air conditioning and the sound deading package(the rally dash and gauge package was stock in 1970). Under the hood is a freashly built number matching 383CI/ 335HP comando engine, Original chrome valve cover in great shape (very hard to find if you had to replace them), 3 speed wipers, number matching intake manifold. The only non matching parts under the hood of this car are the carb and exhuast manifolds. As to the carb I have tracked down and bought a number matching NOS (still in the original box and packaging) california emmissions carb and since two different models we used in Calf. I also have the number matching holly carb ( not new and in need of a rebuild but in very nice shape). Also yet to be installed but with the car is the under hood insulation and mounting clips ( not the cheap year one repop but also NOS). New windshield wiper bottle and kit are also now installed (also the correct one). This car has a number matching trans and 8-3/4" posi rear with the original 3:55 gears. Sorry but the car is undercoated because I live in New Jersey and even though I never take my cars out even if there is a chance of rain there is just to much mosture to take chances. This car did also come with the optional 15 inch ralley wheels and it still sports them making for a much nicer ride. I also installed a brand new stainless exhaust with a cross over x pipe (sorry I am am purest but some things just work better and since it is a easy replacement I afforded myself this luxury). Also in the just completed catagory is new stainless brake lines all around and a freash brake job. There are no blinky lights or dimming at stoplights because the whole charging system is new including the red cap battery. The stance of the car is correct and new nos rear shocks and springs are in place. restoration pictures have been takin thoughtout the build and all the reciepts have been saved. this care will come with all the docs and the GTS paperwork. Once again I am sorry but this car don't have a broadcast sheet and I have checked with GTS to see if they had it.Some of the work mentioned has been done after these pictures were taken that's just how fresh this restoration is. Due to my illness I had to have the final details and resto done at blue sky resto. I have tryed to discribe this car as honestly as possable and I don't believe you are going to find many cars nicer then this one. This car never was a rust bucket, it is not a rebody or clone, but rather a very nice example of why muscle cars are so popular and continue to grow in value. This car is sold as is and buyer not only pays for shipping but is responcable for setting up the shipping also. the buyer must make a depost on this car within 48 hours of the close of auction and full payment must be recieved within 5 days of end of auction. please dont bid if you dont have the funds availabe to buy. You are more then welcome to come see the car or send your representive to see the car but it must be done by appointment only. All payments must not only be submited but must also clear my bank before the car or title will be realeasted to the buyer or his agent. This car is being sold because my health no longer permits me to enjoy the hobby. Please ask questions before bidding, please don't ask me what the reserve is and I reserve the right to end the auction early as it is for sale locally however if the bids have met the reserve the auction will not be stopped. Also if the bid dose not reach the reserve by the end of the auction a second chance offer may be extended if I feel it is close enough so bid to your limit this reserve is more then reasonable for this car. good luck!
