Vehicle Detail
We have owned "Emily" as we call her for over twenty years. Her previous owner had substantially restored her and then when we bought her, we had the respected Hybernia Auto Restoration of New Jersey complete the rest of it. We've shown the car and she's been in several parades, but she is not what I call a show car. She's a driver, though if we put 200 miles a year on her, it'd be a lot. The odometer reads 12408 but I do not know what her actual miles are. I suspect her miles are low because she doesn't show much wear - like on the gas and brake pedals for example which I have not changed. She's always been garaged with us and she always starts right up. I've kept up with regular oil changes and with new or rebuilt parts as needed over the years. To my knowledge there are no mechanical problems. Body wise she is in very good shape...say a 7-8. One issue: there is a thin crack, not a dent, in the paint on her left rear fender. The chrome is a 6 to an 8 and while good, it is not show condition chrome. Her top is quite good...with no tears...and the side curtains are good too. The plastic side curtain windows are reasonably clear. The interior, seats and carpeting are about an 8-9 and in quite good shape. I'm getting a bit old to keep her and the right owner will find that Emily is a real gem. We also have the owner's manual, repair manuals and other historical items related to a 1950 WIllis. Please note: We've owned Emily for about twenty years and now I live in Rhode Island which does not issue a title for an antique car...or for any car over 25 years old. Instead, Rhode Island gives a certified Department of Motor Vehicle paper which I will provide the buyer and which will be accepted by your state so you can register her. If you want to contact the RI DMV the number is 401-462-5779 though you may get to be as old as I am before you reach a live person! If you've been hunting for a fun, well kept Willis, you've found one. Questions? 401-487-3818. Terms: A $500 deposit is required within two days of the auction sale. I can take a credit card deposit as I still have a business. The balance is to be paid by cash, by wire transfer, or by a bank check within a week of the sale. To transport her, I will drive her to you if youj live in Rhode Island or if you are out of state, of course I will assist whoever you get to transport her. Transportation out of state is of course the buyer's responsibility. The car is available to be seen locally, but please call to set a time.On Dec-03-10 at 09:29:05 PST, seller added the following information: We have owned "Emily" as we call her for over twenty years. I just learned one thing from a question askec by an Ebay Auction reader and that is that the three on the floor shift is not stock for the Overland. That's how she came when we purchased her years ago, but the parts company I always buy from says a floor shift was not original. I'm getting a bit old to keep her and the right owner will find that Emily is a real gem. We also have the owner's manual, repair manuals and other historical items related to a 1950 WIllis.
