this is a 1970 amx 390 that has been restored and bought by a friend of mine. i traded for a 68 and a 70 amx. since my friend bought this over a year ago, it has just been stored with all his other amx's. he had over $20,000.00 in this car. car looks very nice. not sure how long ago it was painted. bumpers have just been re-chromed. the door tag was taken off when painted, and not put back on, and now may be lost, but he is checking his box's. the door tag did not mean much to me on this one, as the main thing it tells is color, and this was originally red from what i can see under the car, and behind the bolts. i guess if it was a big bad car it would make a difference. you can get a reproduction tag if it matters, but vin has the X in it for a 390. the 390 in the car has been rebuilt, and has a nice sounding mild cam, with headers and flow masters. have some of the ram air parts, y duct, missing the rest, another thing he cant find, and taken off when car was painted. car came from sea level, and needs minor tuning, as i am at 7300 feet. sounds very good and strong, and runs good also. transmission shifts fine. tach and speedo work, and clock works when it wants. radio does not work, but is an am/fm unit. power steering, and power brakes, with a rare tilt wheel. this amx has factory vacuum wipers. may need new lines, but operates slow, so either fuel pamp vacuum is low, or the wiper unit needs seals. i also have a n.o.s. fuel pump with vacuum for the wipers that goes with the car. heater works also. he had the brakes done about 6 months ago. tires are new bfg silvertown redlines. has non-original front and rear spoilers. i have had 3 of these on past amx's. even not original, i like the look. interior is nice, original seats re-done, close to original pattern. car looks like it had minor trunk work done by fuel filler, but with a trunk mat, you would never know. i know some people would never mention things like this, but i never have had someone up set by describing to much. engine valve cover tag reads- 209X03 2-1969 09-SEPTEMBER X-1970 390 ENGINE 03-3RD DAY OF SEPTEMBER. 390 casting clearly seen on block.
