Vehicle Detail

I need to sell this car and I've lowered the price. This is a great steal for any VW fan! Condition: The car is in great condition with original details. Midnight blue exterior with original cream-colored horsehair-stuffed seats. Four-cylinder fuel injection engine. Engine has been taken apart, thoroughly cleaned, and meticulously put back together with new pistons. Also, all fuel lines and hoses have been replaced. New master brake cylinder. There is also a new EMPI dual exhaust on the car. Otherwise this car is original as they come. Current things to be noted: 1) Front windshield has a ~12" horizontal crack on the passenger side due to a rock from the original transportation. I didn't find it necessary to fix right away and I unfortunately didn't get to it before I left. Past work: 1) There is about a 1 sq ft patch welded onto the undercarriage from prior work. No rust. 2) There is a very small patch of Bondo work on the upper portion of the right rear wheel well. Truly undetectable and I came upon it while under the car without the wheels on. 3) When removing the engine I found that a past mechanic had welded the exchangers to one of the connecting exhaust tubes. Therefore, in removal of exchangers the tube was cut and now there is a ~2mm gap between the connecting tubes. The gap has been fixed but just wanted to note it. THAT'S ALL. OTHERWISE SHE'S ORIGINAL AND PERFECT!!! Features: This beauty comes with all of the standard features well-known to all Type III lovers! She is an absolute joy to drive. The car still has the original VW tool kit, spare tire, and jack that came with the original purchase. Also, the prior owner (and ONLY owner other than myself) used to place this car in shows and therefore the car also comes with show tires. I have many original documents about the car, e.g. manual, purchase receipt, license plates, registrations, etc. Very nice and complete history to this great car. I also have many things specific to the VW including 4 texts that I'm giving with it: - Volkswagen Service Manuel Type 3 - Haynes VW Type 3 1500 & 1600 - John Muir "How to Keep Your Volkswagen Alive" - Wilson "How to Rebuild Your Volkswagen Air-Cooled Engine" - New Brake Pads - Fuel Pressure Tester Kit - Extra Fan Belts - Various Gaskets - Extra fuel hosing & other hosings etc - Fire Extinguisher - Show Tires History Etc: The car was originally purchased in Corsicana TX and spent the first ~25 years there. The car was then brought to Alabama by a family member until I purchased it in 2006. The car was in great condition when I received it however you could tell the car sat mostly and was used for shows. I put a great deal of work and time into the car to bring it up to reliable speed. I lived in Madison, WI at the time and I was only able to drive it for 2 summers (stored in the winter) before I moved to NYC. Never brought it with me for fear that something might happen to it. Now we are moving abroad and I am unfortunately parting with this beautiful car. I am selling this car at a major loss and so I am really hoping that this car finds someone who is willing to give her the time and love she deserves. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CALL ME IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS or WOULD LIKE ME TO SEND MORE PHOTOS 617-849-3174 (Nathan). Shipping and Payment: The buyer is responsible for picking up the car in Madison, WI. Payment in Paypal, certified check, or cash. I am flexible on arrangement of pickup and we can speak about this later.
