Vehicle Detail
Up for sell is a very rare, in fact, as far as I know one of a kind BMW 635 CSI with the Coach Builders Limited convertible conversion. I have owned two of these cars and I have never seen one with the same color match with White paint and Burgandy leather and Black trim interior. This is one of the only Coach Builders Limited edition 635's left - the company was located in California and since moved to Florida and the conversion was done immediately when the vehicle was shipped from Germany to the Port in New York and was transported from New York to California and back to New York. The original owner was from the Avon family and had the car set with custom colors and a custom convertible top. I spoke with a gentlemen at Coach Builders Limited and he advised they were chosen by BMW to do conversions without voiding the warranty and he advised they did not do very many of these do to it being a $10,000 upgrade package on top of the $45,000 original cost of the vehicle in 1985. The original owner also added a Bosal sports exhaust to it as well and a front strut bar. The car was taken care of and garaged in New York until I recieved it in Texas but of course over time it did come up with a few very minor corrosion spots but nothing major. I am very particular about this car, it has about five dings total that were there when I recieved it. Everything is in perfect working order except the convertible motor (It works perfectly fine opening and closing by hand like most early convertibles and have not had the time to fix it and I was actually going to have a custom hard top made instead by cutting a shell from a junker and making custom trim or getting really expensive and have one fabricated from lightweight fiberglass). I recently had to put a little epoxy to seal a tiny leak at the top of the radiator due to the order time taking approximately three months to get an original radiator shipped. The epoxy holds great though :-) but should only be used temporarily. Somehow the original owner poked a pinky toe size hole in the drivers seat. The steering wheel starts to vibrate at 55 and then disappears at 65 and i have not had time to figure it. I have the original 239 wheels as well with original Michelin TRX tires and it seems to not do it as much or at all. I only drivr the car locally through town so I am more concerned with the look. The wheels you see on it are from the 7 Series and M5 and are original BMW. They may not be for you but I love the way they make the vehicle look more aggressive and yes both guys and girls will make positive comments at the stoplight with this car along with even waiving you down. I prefer to not sell this vehicle but I have too many and please do not make this worse for me by asking why. If the car is purchased at or below $7000 I will only include one set of wheels the 18's or 239's. This is where I bite my lip, if the vehicle is purchased at the buy it now price I am going to include both sets of wheels, Dinan chip, spare bumper and fender flares, spare bumper shocks, random pieces, even a custom made rear strut bar. There is no reserve! The vehicle has almost 26,000 original miles! It also just turned a classic! The dash has absolutely no cracks and the car still has the orginal cassette radio with a 6 disk changer and the power antenna works perfect! There is no warranty or gaurantees implied and the buyer will be responsible for shipping and or picking up the vehicle. A $500 deposit will be due within 24 hours and I prefer full payment through PayPal within 3 days of winning the vehicle. Happy Bidding!
