Here is a 1981 CB900 Custom for sale. These bikes had an inline 4 cylinder engine, 4 carburetors, dual front rotors, air shocks, shaft drive, and most notably, a sub transmission which gives each gear a high and low range. This bike is fast and gets 35-40 mpg. The bike has fresh oil, K&N oil filter, iridium plugs, new carb boots, new insulators, and K&N air filter. This bike is far from perfect...The custom paint job is nice, but has chips and a few cracks. The motor and drivetrain has been blacked out, and is chipping due to poor preparation or wrong paint. It runs a little lean, these bikes were known for running lean and the K&N air filter and exhaust leaks cause it to run a little leaner. A larger jet kit would make this bike run great and start better on cold days (it runs great now but is a little cold natured and has that little lean pop). A little paint and a little TLC and this baby could be a fast vintage cruiser that turns plenty of heads. I even thought about turning it into a bobber!
