Vehicle Detail
Here is an exceptionally nice original 1926 Model T Coupe. I thought of parting this one out but, it is just too nice to knock in the head and I have too many projects to ever think of getting this one done. It has a clear South Dakota Title that matches the frame number. The story on this car is it was driven up into the 1950's and then it was sold to three different parties who all shedded it intending to restore it. I then purchased it this summer. It has some dents, dings, and surface rust, but no rust through that I can see. It is an overall straight car. The top is showing its age and is ratty and thin. The interior is original but, probably needs to be redone. All the glass is there for patterns. It has the original rain gutters for both sides of the top. The floor in the trunk is rusty and has a small patch, but is a decent one to start with. The fenders are nice and straight, solid for their age and are going to be easy to make new. The right side fenders both have about 2 inch welds in them. All four tires hold air, but one has a leak and doesn't hold air too long. The engine runs nicely, but the carb needs some work as I can get to idle nicely, but not too long. The gas tank is clean and the gas comes out clean. It has great compression and takes some effort to hand crank it over. I have to pull start it to start it because the bendix spring must be broke as the starter spins over, but it doesn't turn over the engine. I heard no obvious knocks. It shifts between low and high nicely, but I would think the bands need to be relined. The brake and reverse pedals engage and disengage, but I didn't drive it too far as I didn't trust the foot and emergency brake. The original engine pans are still on this engine and are full of many years of grease, oil, and dirt from the years on the road. This car is a nice original car and would be a great start for a stock restoration, it would be a shame rod this one out. For sale locally. Ask all questions prior to bidding. Don't bid if you don't intend to pay. Purchaser is responsible for shipping charges and arranging all shipping for this car.
