Manufactured December 1970 No Resreve Time has come for me to part with my beloved 240Z. California car No back DMV fees current Non-op Title in my name. Dream Car those in the know will appreciate that this car was built Dec. 1970 and first registered Early 1971, a true collectible with Overkill power (sinister grin). Features a brand new screaming 3.0 L Jim Wolf Spec. engine with NO miles on it, also available is the original (running) matching numbers Dec 1970 engine with 146K miles on it. Car has 146k miles on it, 3.0 engine has NO miles on it brand new. Wow. I bought this classic here in San Diego in 1986, and have poured money and time into it ever since, this is a screaming deal. Note: This is a nearly completed project worth thousands of dollars poured into it you will have to do some finishing to get on the blacktop; it has been stored inside a garage since 1997. You are going to drool over the power upgrades. I will list some of the features and upgrades below. More pictures to be added showing extra engine, grill and correct Jim Wolf Spec. Fuel injection computer and harness and so much more. The Engine In short, the engine is a 3.0 liter built by Ed Hale (job number 2909) to Jim Wolf specifications. Ed was a wonderful man who treated me with kindness and respect when I was broke, and later worked with me to build the engine of my dreams. I scoured the local junkyards with a friend to find the elusive LD28 crankshaft from a diesel Maxima, and then had it magnafluxed for integrity. The 280 block and rods got the same treatment. The block was checked for straightness, bored to accept the bigger pistons, and Ed showed me how to stress relieve and lighten the rods, as well as polish the inside of the bottom of the block so the oil will return faster to the pan (racing tricks Ed learned from the track). The rods were balanced; shot peened for strength and the bottom end was assembled with new bearings, rings and pistons. The head was checked for cracks and weak spots, as well as for straightness. Ed used to do the porting and polishing of the heads himself, and it was important to me that the head be ported and polished. It took every bit of extra money I had to have that engine built and almost 9 months of shop time. (Ed allowed me to pay as I could and stored the engine in the back until I could come up with more money) I was so proud when I finally picked up my engine! I had the intake manifold and valve cover polished to a mirror-like gloss by a local metal polishing shop. The fuel injectors are new from a 280zx turbo, and I bought a custom billet fuel rail to clean up the stock plumbing. To simplify wiring and provide for higher current loads, I added an alternator adapter bracket to allow a Chevy 1 wire alternator. Also included is the original correct engine (in good running order), yes, that is two engines in this deal. I’m also including the match-ported carburetor intake manifold and to SU carbs. I have the Jim Wolf recommended fuel injection wiring harness and brain. I don’t know if he still modifies the brain for more power. I am also including the 360 degree wheel for the distributor. A 280XZ turbo exhaust manifold and down pipe are included for your T3/4 turbo. I may have a flowmaster muffler, and will add it if I can find it. Transmission: The transmission is the best ever offered in an L series, the Borg-Warner T5 5 speed from the ’83 turbo. The separate bell housing may allow a T56 6 speed, I’m not sure. Differential: The differential is the best R200 Nissan ever offered that will fit a Z, namely, the rare limited slip LSD from the special ’88 white addition. I did my homework here. Rear Suspension: The rear suspension uses adjustable coil over coils from Dave Turner Motorsports. Ride height can be adjusted and fine tuned without removing the struts, and different spring rates can be used for street or track. A ¾” rear sway bar is installed. Rear Brakes Ross from Modern Motorsports in Canada provided me with his rear disc brake setup, as well as custom 5 lug hubs. I have 4 Nissan 16” rims with tires, 2 are on the back. Front brakes currently use the Toyota four piston calipers. The brakes include a willwood proportioning valve and gauge. Body and Needs Includes Auto power rollbar. Includes front bumper and grill. Clearly needs to be finished, fine tune body work, paint, radiator, fuel injection harness will need installing (included) if you go that route, the option to this is carburetor. Has manifold for turbo charger, you can add a turbo charger. Please ask questions as this is a nearly completed project that is not on the road, it has had thousands of dollars poured into it and is a race car in the making, one that is street legal. If you know these cars you know what a screaming deal this is. Sold AS IS no smog required. DEPOSIT VIA INSTANT PAY PAL TRANSFER IS DUE THE SAME DAY AUCTION CLOSES. The balance is due within 5 days, cash in person, OR POSTAL MONEY ORDER (if you are shipping it) Are acceptable forms of payment. NO E-CHECKS, NO CHECKS, NO THIRD PARTY PAYMENT. Thank you
