With only 26,166 original miles, this exceptionally clean Cobra has been Enthusiast/Collector owned for its entire life. This car has been garage-kept in Arizona since new and was originally purchased from Pioneer Ford in Phoenix, AZ. I don’t think you will be able to find a Cobra of this year in better condition or with a more complete vehicle history. This Mustang Cobra is being sold by a private seller (vehicle owner). The title is clean and clear and the car has never been in an accident. As you can see by the pictures, this car is immaculate inside and out. It runs like new and needs absolutely nothing. The Laser Red Tinted Metallic Paint is in exceptional condition and the Saddle Leather interior is clean, soft, and without blemish. The hand-built, and hand-singed engine runs smooth and strong and sounds amazing through the side exhaust. Vehicle History: I purchased this Cobra in January of 2002 with 5,000 miles on the odometer and was the second owner of the vehicle. The original owner lived in Scottsdale, Arizona and kept the car as a collector vehicle in his garage. As a collector, he retained all of the original vehicle records and paperwork, including the SVT certificates from Ford, the window sticker, 1996 cobra dealership brochures, etc. All of this paperwork (and history) will transfer to the new owner. I owned the car from 2002 until 2008 when I sold the car to my father-in-law who lives in Cave Creek, Az and is the current owner of the vehicle. He asked for my help to sell the vehicle so I agreed to create the ebay listing and answer questions about the car. The car has been running Mobil 1 full synthetic motor oil and all synthetic lubricants (transmission, rear-end gears) since 5000 miles. Oil was change regularly at intervals between 3000-4000 miles. If you are familiar with the 1996 Cobra’s you might have heard about cooling issues on the first cobra’s built in 1996 with the new 4.6L DOHC engine. This car was one of the last cobra’s built in 1996 and never experienced the cooling issues; however, it was a concern of mine so I had Ford complete the cooling Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) on the car in 2003. This is a substantial upgrade to the vehicle’s cooling system and included a larger radiator, larger cooling fan, revised A/C condenser, and all the necessary hardware. Even while driving in the hot Arizona summer, with the A/C on max, this car does not exhibit (and never has had) cooling issues. During my ownership, I did all of the upgrades noted above, with the exception of the CDC side exhaust and custom pinstripes. The mustang cobra engines are hand assembled by a team of two Ford technicians at the historic Romeo Engine Plant. The two builders sign a name plate that’s stuck on the valve cover of the finished engine. Over the years of detailing the engine, I was concerned that the names were starting to fade. I wrote Ford’s Special Vehicle Team (SVT) and requested that the original engine builders sign another copy of the name plate for my records. In the picture with the two keys, you can see a second signed copy of the engine plate that will be provided with all of the vehicle’s literature to the winning bidder. This Mustang Cobra has been well taken care of by 3 owners that are automotive and car enthusiasts. The care of these owners is represented by this vehicle’s excellent condition.
