RESERVE LOWERED..PRICED TO SELL Up for sale is a 1965 “A Code” Mustang coupe. Car has been kept up over its years and is a great driver. Currently, we drive it on the weekends as it is enjoyable to drive anywhere because of its modern T5 5 speed transmission that makes freeway driving a breeze. Car has been garage kept and gets a ton of attention with its attractive Shelby look. This car is perfect for some who wants the Shelby look without the Shelby price. For a car being 40+ years old it is in pretty darn good shape. Solid car. Happy bidding and good luck! Engine : 302cid 8-cylinder (V8) engine is considered to be running strong with good compression, no known fluid leaks. Engine sounds nice and runs strong– these engine’s are great. Also know that it has a re-built 4-barrell Holly carburetor (2010). Engine has been maintained with frequent oil, sparkplugs, air & gas filter changes regulary. New engine parts and engine performance parts: § Performer Eddlebrock intake manifold § 4 barrel Holly carb single pumper 750 with 1 inch carb spacer § Hedman headers (shorties) § MSD ignition box § Aluminum radiator § Dual electric fans § New dual exhaust with 2 ½ inch exhaust pipping with New 40 series Flowmasters § New spark plug wires and rotor and cap § New water pump § Cobra valve covers § New tachometer Drivetrain: Car is equipped with a Borgs & Warner T-5 5-speed manual transmission. Rear end is stock and in good working order. Car uses a clutch cable system and shifts smoothly. I would prefer it over the stock linkage system of mustangs. Please see the many new parts listed below. Mechanical components are all considered to be in good operating condition. New drive train components: § New clutch, pressure plate § New flywheel § New U joints § New clutch cable system § New transmission mounts and crossmember § New starter Suspension, steering and brakes: Car was an original power steering car and handles fine. Current PS pumps looks to be in good working order with no major leaks to the control valve or pump. Car is equipped with front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. Car has new tires all the way around. Brakes are considered to be in good operating condition. Suspension and alignment are good with many parts installed new. Steering box seems to feel tight and in good working order. Please see new parts below. § New front and rear shocks § New front brake pads § Rear chrome traction bars § New poly urethane sway bar end links § New Grant steering wheel § New front tires 185/65/14 § New rear tires 235/60/14 Exterior: the Mustang body is considered to be solid and mostly if not all original- and considered to be relatively rust-free with exception of some rust in the common trouble areas on the inside driver door(3inches). the underside, including key areas of usual concern such as the frame rails, running boards, floor pans, wheel wells, and the like are all considered to be relatively solid for their age. Newer undercoating was sprayed on for additional protection. aside from any naturally occurring oxidation on the 40+ year old metal, to be expected, there are no known major cancerous rust issues that we are aware of. Base coat clear coat paint is considered to be of fair to good quality and it looks terrific from a distance – upon closer inspection, you’ll find natural wear including minor scratches- However, car looks pretty good for its age as it was driven weekends only and garaged at all times. Shelby R-code front bumper was installed and professionally molded to front end. Car has Shelby hood scoop and Shelby white side stripes. Has that Shelby aggressive look and always turns heads. Car has Shelby style front grill with new horse badges and 302 v8 emblems. Windows and molding are in good condition with minor blemishes of a 40 year old car. All windows do roll up and down as they should. Interior & trunk: Interior is in fair shape with usual wear and tear of a 40 year old vehicle. Carpet is in great condition and front seats do fold correctly along with seat rails moving fine. Headliner is in great condition along with a perfect original dash that has been covered with a dash cover. Door panels appear to be in good condition. Car has a modern PioneerCD player along with front & rear speakers. New Grant steering wheel has been installed. Instruments panel appears to function fine with all gauges working properly. All doors & windows function properly. Trunck has been coated with trunk liner all around. Looks very nice.
