Vehicle Detail
1970 AMC Javelin Small Block V8 Super T-10 4 speed transmission Original color - BLUE (see original paint on pics of firewall). It looks like there were three different blues offered in 1970 - Big Bad Blue, and two others. I don't know which this one is. ******** This is where you AMC experts can show off your knowledge~ From what I've read online, this car could be: an Original Donohue car A Dealer made Donohue car an owner made Donohue car or a 70 Javelin with a spoiler ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Here's what I DO know: The original body color (blue) is found under the spoiler, and the original spoiler bolts look like they have been on the car forever. The trunk lid is original to the car, so it would appear that the spoiler is also. The correct Super T-10 is installed (see photo of aluminum spacer) Original Hurst Competition Plus shifter High Performance head castings #3188558-1 Power Brakes ~~~~~~~~~~~ The engine has been cranked over without the coil wired up in order to check for compression and the motor spins freely and appears to be very sound. Judging by the inside of the valve covers and the heads, this motor may have never been run. The engine has headers, roller rockers, high performance heads, and a Holley 1850-3 600cfm carburetor. I do not know anything else about the engine. I was not able to determine the CID when I was there to snap the photos. I have since found out that the size is cast into the block and can be seen from under the motor mount, but I did not have the ability to see it. The mileage on the odometer may or may not be correct. There was a Texas tag inside the car, and the underside is reasonably solid, so this may very well be a Texas car. If you don't see it in the pics - it ain't there. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ NO TITLE I am able to give a Bill of Sale, but there is NO TITLE with this car. The Javelin is being sold AS-IS and must be picked up in Gamber, Maryland (Carroll County). You are welcome to view the car before bidding. A $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of the auction ending and the balance is due within 7 days. Pickup is expected at that time unless other arrangements are made in advance. I do not have tools at the location where the car is stored, so anything needed to inspect or remove the car must be brought along by the buyer. Need it delivered? I can recommend a local rollback service. Check out my other items! On Nov-18-10 at 06:13:51 PST, seller added the following information: Lest I forget to mention - The car has a Posi rear, and the brakes are factory Power Disc Brakes. The originality of the paint seen on the underside of the spoiler is further reinforced by the original paint OVERSPRAY found on the INSIDE of the spoiler.
