Vehicle Detail

For sale is my 1976 Porsche 912e Coupe. It is a 4 cylinder and this model was sold for only one year. A little over 2,000 vehicles of this designation were produced. The car was a sold as a temporary bridge between the 914 and the 924 models and therefore has the latter's engine and transmission. The exterior and interior are exactly the same as a 911. You can learn more about the Porsche 912e at www.912registry.org. Some vehicle owners claim to get 38 miles per gallon, however, you do give up some HP and torque to achieve. This particular car was stored in a barn (garage) for almost 7 years. The body is solid with only a few surface rust spots. There is a dent on the rear hood and the car in general should be gone over and repainted. There is no major bodywork on the car and I believe it has the original white paint. The front lower piece under the bumper is bent (but repairable) and one of the fog lights is broken. I believe the wheels are the original 15" Fuchs. It does start, however, needs some carburetor work before it is driven. This one has had the fuel injection removed and replaced by Weber carburetors, which appears to have been a popular thing to do. I have driven the car short distances and the transmission seems to shift okay. It will need a new muffler. I have not inspected it for safety and it does not have a state inspection sticker on the windshield. Floor boards appear nice and solid. The interior is fair, with the back seats being in very good condition and the front seats having tears in the bottoms. The dashboard has a few cracks and the headliner is in pretty good condition. It has a dealer installed air conditioning, but I doubt if it works. I was planning on restoring the car for show or using it for autocross and track days, however, I purchased an actual race car so this one has to go. I live near Hershey, PA if you would like to stop and see it. You can contact me at 1-717-926-8551 if you have any questions.NOTE: I will throw in the black leather seats from my 2002 Carrera 4 cabriolet if the car brings $5,000.00. They are in above average condition with no tears in the upholstery. These seats are fully automatic, although that may only mean something if you are selling them (doubt if the electronics are in this car to make them function). I was planning to convert them to manual slide for this car. I do not know if the mileage is correct and the title states "exempt". Thanks for looking and please bid only if you plan on buying. I do reserve the right to end the auction early as it is listed locally. No guarantee or warranty is expressed of implied. On Nov-14-10 at 17:11:42 PST, seller added the following information: Correction: The engine and transmission are like a 914, not the 924 like I stated above.
