1970 Cougar Cobra Jet Q code, numbers matching Special order car Spent whole life in Southern California Exterior Originally white, previous owner painted flat black for rat rod look 99% rust free There are no rust pimples showing in the corners of the doors, 1/4 panels, trunk lip or lower door edges. There are no pimples in the aprons at the shock towers and have never been repaired. The passenger side front floor pan is rusted from a heater core leak. This is the only real rust found anywhere. Core support and aprons are mint The passenger side door has a minimal dent mid-way, close to the fender. Interior Interior very original. The headliner and front seat covers have been changed, but the rest is original down to the carpet. Mechanical Smog system is not recreated. All date code original, functional and has been in place since day one. The air cleaner, heat shield, S tube and snorkel are 100% intact. The distributor was updated many years ago to an Autolite dual point, mechanical advance. This is the same distributor you would find in a 1965 427 AC Cobra. The traction-loc third member is no longer in place. It now has a non-locking 28 spline installed. The trans case needs to be repaired or replaced. Comes with a replacement case as well as the original VIN stamped heads. When the motor was rebuilt several years ago, a correct pair of CJ heads were installed and the old ones were kept.
