For Sale: 1997 Subaru Legacy Outback. This car does need engine repair. The head gaskets are the problem. My mechanic gave me an estimate of $1500 - $2000 to fix it because of the amount of labor it would take. So much needs disassembled to get to the parts he needs to fix. I can't do it myself and don't have the money to have him do it. Then my neighbor called his mechanic friend who said he would do it for $300, but he's never got in touch with me. So I don't know how difficult it would be.It ran well until a few weeks ago when this problem developed. It is inspected until the end of the year, has a clear title, a roof rack, factory spare tire. It is all wheel drive. The tires are decent, probably 60 percent tread. The body is in nice shape with a little rust just starting around the rear wheels. The interior is nice - no major scratches or tears. The rear seats fold down to expand the cargo room. The cargo area has a plastic mat on the floor. The cross pieces for the roof rack are not on right now, but they do come with the car. Payment is due at the time of pick up or delivery, cash, money order, or cashier's check. You can pick it up yourself; I can help you tow it to your place if you live near by, or I can deliver it to you for the cost of the trailer rental, probably about $50, plus $1 per mile.
