Vehicle Detail

Pontiac Catalina 2Dr Sport Coupe. 389 V8 Garage find. RARE. All original no major rust! Original paint, floors and motor. In great shape overall. We have inherited this car from my uncle whom has passed away and stumble upon this in his Heated garage under a tarp in the back. This was a 10,000 sq ft garage with a lot of items piled up and took me forever to get to the tarp. So it was amazing to find this rare car is such great shape. This car is in great condition, except for the passage side looks as if it was side swiped. Very minor body work or even a dent master could get them out. surface rust found on the lower sides and the lower fender (which was common for these cars, very minor body/paint work 20 mins to fix all). The car is locate in Saratoga, NY for the time being at his house until I can either sell it up there or bring it back to LI. This can be discussed during the bidding process. The car is in great shape other. A little wax and a wash and it came right back to its original state. All trimmings (such as all stainless) are there and looks great. Interior is a little musty but excellent. Seats and look mint as does the dash. Has all trim on the inside. The car is all original with everything still in tacked. The floors are in great shape. Negatives of the car: -Like noted above the passenger side was side swiped and could use minor/ if anybody work -the gas tank was rotted out from sitting and looks like my uncle has placed a temporary tank in the engine compartment- cause there was extra room for a 5 gallon tank. This can be seen in the pictures - the car did not start when found. based off everything he has, it probably has a cut-off swich. the tractor which sold and the two other cars have them, just haven't found this one yet. -Sitting for close to 5-7 years. The positives: -Car is complete with everything - has all trim and hubcaps -interior is mint - it’s been in a heat garage its whole life - one owner All buyers must contact me first before bidding. If not contacted I will cancel bidders over the reserve. Please note that shipping will be at buyers expense and I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime, since for sale locally. I will not ship out of US and will not except checks and wire back money so don’t even ask! I added a picture i found online of (the Catalina in red with the torque thrusts ) of what the car could look like with some new rims and the dents removed. I did not try and start it. I think it would be better for the buy to take their time and try to start it. the under floor boards are mint. Just some surface rust and same as the frame. The car was kept in a heated garage. On Nov-10-10 at 05:17:10 PST, seller added the following information: Please note that the 20 min estimate on the rust work, was meant by patches to the one fender and preparation of the of surface rust. This is without paint and fixing the dent on the passenger side. Any good body guy could have this fixed in 20 mins. then however long to blend in the paint.
