RE-LISTING BECAUSE WINNING BIDDER BACKED OUT OF PURCHASE 1984 Porsche 928S Red with black interior 5 speed trans V8, overhead cam, water cooled, p/s, p/b, p/w, p/l, p/seats, p/sunroof, cruise, all bells and whistles Good tread life on tires - Bridgestone's on front, Dunlop's on rear - but right rear is staring to show cracking around the outer edge - I'd run some stickier tires -Sumitomo? At 37,550 miles (when I bought the car): Brakes all calipers rebuilt, pads, front slotted rotors, and system flushed (Girling dot-4 fluid) Timing belt and all idlers, tensioner Water pump and thermostat V belts Hoses Cooling system flushed Engine oil flushed and changed Fuel filter, air filter, spark pugs, wires, cap, rotor Alternator brush/regulator replaced Trans oil changed w/ BG Syncro-shift Tires balanced Hatch struts replaced 39,950 miles (current mileage) Fires right up, runs strong, no noise - rattles, knocks, or pings Trans shifts clean - no balking Clutch is tight - smooth engagement, no slipping This is a single exhaust 928S This car has a beautiful leather dash - no shrinking or tears Passed Ill. emission test after tuneup and timing belt replacement (2002) - have paper work Hardly any rust on the body - just around right rear side marker - see picture Paint peeling at underside of rear spoiler - see picture Under carriage clean Suspension and steering tight - no pulling, tracks straight Brakes stop even - no pulling No nicks in glass All electrical systems work - windows, seats, sunroof, power locks, security system, wipers, headlights, etc. except the automatic hatch release is inoperative and enginee needs to be rev'ed once to get alternator to start charging - replaced brush/reg. pack, but still the same. Driver and passenger seat lower, center area, though not ripped, needs to be stretched and tucks repaired or just replaced - B/4 questioning the seats, remember the car is 26 years old Carpeting needs to be vacuumed/cleaned Hood struts are weak AM/FM cassette player from the 1990's Few minor dings and scuffs on body - right front fender, left rear quarter Right side of car has been repainted at some point - I believe the right front fender was replaced (front inner mud flap is missing) and the body shop just sprayed the whole side of the car Rest of car is factory paint The front lower spoiler in cracked on both ends (normal for this car being driven in Chicago area. In and out of parking garages, etc.) There is a pinhole leak on the "y" pipe at a weld I found when I had it up in the air and running. The exhaust system looks to be the original system. The undercarriage is rust free - factory undercoating tight and clean. The fuel gauge just started to act up - sticks at 1/4 tank - take a turn and it's reading again. Chevron injector clean cures that. Problem is from sitting too much. The picture of the rear underside - the cover over the fuel pump/filter was re-painted (black) when I changed the filter. Otherwise, all original under the car. This is a 26 year old car - there are things that need attention - a/c inop, seats need work, Y pipe repair or replace, sticky gauges, etc. but overall this car fine and can be driven today. Car has been stored indoors since I purchased it in 2001. I hardly ever drove it, so time to sell it and let someone enjoy it. Gas was drained every fall and tank refilled in spring. Drove around the area 3-4 times a summer. Maybe 50 miles a year. As for the mileage - I had a ton of questions the first time up for sale - Again, I bought it with 37,000 in 2001, and now has almost 40,000 - That is very low mileage, and I can not find any information that the odometer was ever changed - Car Fax comes back clean on damage or repairs, so I'm assuming the mileage is accurate. ASK QUESTIONS B/4 BIDDING!!!! If you're in the area, feel free to make an appointment to come by to see and drive her. I will assist with the shipping of the car if needed. You will need to arrange and pay for the service, but I will be here when they come to get and load her. I also have the full set of Factory Porsche manuals and also a Porsche quick reference book for parts that I'll sell for an additional $200 with the car, if the buyer is interested. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding! ABOUT BIDDING: NO NOT BID IF......... YOU DON'T HAVE THE CASH, OR IF YOUR GIRLFRIEND OR WIFE WON'T LET YOU HAVE IT, OR IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A PERFECT PORSCHE - IT'S NOT - I'VE LISTED EVERYTHING I KNOW IS UP WITH THE CAR. IT IS A REALLY NICE 928 THAT IS 26 YEARS OLD AND HAS NO REBUILDING OR RESTORING DONE TO HER.
