Vehicle Detail
Up for your consideration is a nice example of a 1971 Porsche with a professionally installed Chevy 5.7 V8. This is a true no reserve auction. No reserve, no shill bids, no hidden fees and it will sell to the highest bidder. The car has 911 spindles, brakes, wheels and some suspension modifications. The interior has Momo seats, Pyrotect 4 point safty harnesses, a Momo quick disconnect steering wheel. The engine is fuel injected with a Holley Power Commander 950 mounted behind the passenger seat. This little Porsche is amazingly tight for a 40 year old car. I have my mechanic going through it right now making sure everything is up to snuff. He is replacing the clutch with a larger one, replacing the radiator, going through the engine, transmission, etc, etc. I do not know what the bill is going to be yet, but I'm guessing in the $4,000 range. I've owned a lot of cars over the years including exotics, European sports cars, supercharged cars, several V8 conversions, etc., etc., and out of all of them, this is the most fun to drive. It handles like a go cart, accelerates very well, and has that old school "feel the road" feel to it. This is a very fun little car that should give you many hair blown miles of enjoyment. I purchased the car with the idea that I would make it perfect and keep it. However, between the economy and a troublesome ex, it must go, and it must go quickly. If you've ever wanted one of these, here is your chance to steal one. I have about $10,000 worth of past maintenance receipts on the car. The speedometer is inop so the miles are not accurate, but as I mentioned, this is a very tight car. I also found some bondo in the right rear quarter panel that was planning to remove but did not. The Momo seats were originally red and were died black. There is a hint of red that shows through the black, but I think it kind of looks cool as there is some red trim in the interior of the car. For what it's worth, I was offered $500 for the license plate, which I turned down, so if you are an out of state buyer, be sure to auction the plates off. You might make $500 to $1,000 of them. Please note that I took the pictures before sending the car to the shop, so the engine will look a little cleaner than it does in the pictures. Thanks for looking!
