Up for auction is a 1950 Desoto Deluxe 4 door sedan, no reserve! This vehicle is overall in very nice condition, definately restorable. The engine is a flathead 6 (strong as an ox) and starts up nicely. The body is overall in good condition, however there are some areas of rust and small holes. The frame is solid, with no holes or rotting. The interior needs to be redone, the upholstery is trashed. Also, there are some holes in the floorboards (drivers side). Here are some pros and cons of the vehicle: Pros: Vehicle looks very nice as is. Frame is solid, surface rust is present. Engine is strong, runs smooth. Tranny shifts fine (3 speed fluid drive). Glass is in great shape, all windows work perfectly. All chrome is present, some has been rechromed (30%). The remainder of the chrome is pitted. Tires are new, including spare. Cons: Some holes in floor boards. Some body rust and small holes (not all areas pictured). Needs brake work (wheel cylinders). Interior needs upholstery redone (seats, doors and roof). Radio does not work. Some gauges do not work.
