I am an Ivy League graduate. I am in my mid-30s. I am a serious fellow, and I've been on the national and local TV news giving unpaid and unsolicited financial market commentary; also been in major national newspapers and magazines doing the same. Most recently, I was quoted in AARP magazine. There is nothing being hidden about this car, as so many people do. You don't get 100% positive feedback over 11 years of registration by hiding things. If there is something you should know about this car of which I am aware, it's available to you in the auction. I go out of my way to make sure people are satisfied. Look at my specific feedback...look how the guy who bought the truck recently said, "You can trust Seth with your eyes closed." I work hard to make sure I get comments like that; I don't take it lightly, and it means a tremendous amount to me. I look forward to getting to know you if you'd like me to (or if you'd like to buy the car without me getting to know you, that's OK too!)! The car: You are bidding on a 1956 MGA with wire wheels and a 4-speed manual transmission. I have tried to start the engine, but it will not start. There are two batteries in the car. One appears to be very old -- it's a 6-volt (judging by the 3 cell caps it has), which isn't connected and doesn't look like it will hold a charge (for some odd reason its terminals are connected to each other with a short cable). And the other is a modern 12-volt. The modern battery is connected but sounds weak as the starter turns. As I peer into the the battery bay behind the seats, I can see the fuel pump is not connected to the fuel lines, so that's at least one problem. I also think the engine isn't getting any spark which is another basic problem -- maybe it needs a new coil, or the points have to be adjusted. I attempted neither of those two things, so the engine is neither getting spark nor fuel, and add to that a weak battery and it's no surprise that it will not start. Please examine all the photographs well -- be aware as you look through them that the grille has oxidation on it, as well as the right side-view mirror and both have been partially painted with silver paint. You'll notice the car has a nice vinyl top and the vinyl windows are not milky. The top is not new and not as supple as I'm sure it once was. There's also a foldable tonneau cover that covers either both the driver and passenger spaces, or just the passenger side, as the need may be. The half-and-half zipper isn't functioning, and the tonneau is partially disintegrated as pictured, but it's still nice that it has it. Also included are side curtains which are very nice to have. The shifter feels correct as it shifts through 1st through 4th nicely and reverse as well. The accelerator pedal presses and returns back to idle position as it should. This is a nearly 55 year old car and there are nicks, scratches and oxidation as you'd expect. That being said, it was clearly well cared for by previous owners, as most MGAs have been neglected to the point that they were crushed a long time ago. The seats are in excellent condition and supple, and and the rest of the interior is quite nice as well...door panels, rear window sill, floormats, floors, etc. Please watch the entire video above as very briefly you'll get a chance to "know" me and more importantly I will walk you through the car. . . -- no reserve -- no reserve -- no reserve -- no reserve -- no reserve -- NO MINIMUM BID -- THE TOP BIDDER WINS The turn signals are working in the video I didn't have the ignition switch turned on (with a jumper clip lead) so you will not see them blinking when I attempted to show you. There was an aftermarket key switch for the ignition installed (just a basic key switch) which comes right out by spining the front nut by hand to reveal modern crimp connectors on the back of the switch, but the key has gone missing -- that whole switch can be replaced in literally in 3-4 minutes. Use the combination of the photos, videos and text for full disclosure, with more emphasis on the photos and videos as the description is not intended to be exhaustive. As eBay says, a single picture is worth a thousand words. I have been registered on eBay for close to 11 years and have 100% positive feedback. Any questions, message me through the eBay messaging system, and I will answer promptly, or you can call me at (Five-Six-One) Three-76-Two-Two-Seven-Nine. The Photo Bucket slideshow below automatically displays the first 100 of the 235 available pictures. That's just a Photo Bucket limitation...to view the rest of them, right-click on the "View all" at the bottom right of the slideshow and select open in new tab or open in new window: AUCTION RULES: Full payment is due within within 7 calendar days of auction ending by either cash in-person or bank wire only.
