Vehicle Detail

Please read all information as I want the buyer to understand what a cool car they are getting. I am not a car dealer and not out to trick anyone. I will try to list everything I can think of. I would prefer that you make arrangments to inspect and drive the car prior to bidding. It is located in Alma MI. I will not require any deposit as long as arrangements can be made within a week. Up for auction is a beautiful 1973 Mustang convertible with just 49,300 miles on it. This car was originally an export with DSO B1 which I legally imported to the country about two and a half years ago. It has a ivy glow metallic extererior with a deluxe avocado interior. It has some nice options including power top with glass window, power disc brakes, power steering, deluxe interior, full length console, sport mirrors, chin spoiler, Naca "Nasa" hood, dual exhaust, automatic transmission and new magnum 500 wheels with P245/60R15 BF Goodrich tires with less than a thousand miles on them. The car over all is in great condition and runs and drives nicely with no mechanical issues. It looks like a low mileage well mantained car but has had restoration work. I was told by the previous owner he believed the mileage to be correct because he new of several owners going back years and they also said it was original miles. Although it is in great condition it is not new and is 38 years old so it does have some flaws. There are no rust issues and for all intents and purposes is rust free. The paint is smooth and glassy but does have a couple of small bubbles on the top of the deck lid (adhesion issue not rust) and the paint was touched up on the passengers fender in a couple small areas, also the paint has cracked along the leading edge of the flexible front bumper. Non of these flaws show up in the pictures. The top shows some minor wear but will not need to be serviced for many years. The engine is a replacement but is the same date and type that could have been available. The previous owner did not know why the engine had been swapped, purhaps the original 302 wasnt enough. The engine has been recently tuned up and everything had been serviced or checked and is ready for thousands of miles of trouble free driving. The only thing missing from the engine is the air intake tube and heat riser. The battery is a heavy duty optima yellow top. The interior is really nice also and is a mix of original and reproduction parts. The console plate has been retouched and looks presentable but is not perfect, The door panel are repaired originals that have been dyed but are pretty good looking. They have the speaker grills in them but currently are not equipped with speakers. The steering wheel has some cracks but are arent very noticable. The clock will not stay running and it starts to do funny things so I just unhooked it for the time being. It has new gaskets weather stripping and seals all around but still has a couple slight wind noises at speed and there are some funny squeks in the dash. The shifter is firm and the shift interlock mechanism works perfectly. All of the electrical works perfectly with the exception of the clock and the seat belt buzzer. The wires were all cut for the seat belt buzzer by a previous owner and I didnt feel that it was important enough to hook back up, besides the key minder buzzer is anoying enough. The trunk is solid like the rest of the car and has its original apperance but does not have a spare or jack at this time. I truely have tried to list everything to the best of my ability and i hope I didnt forget anything but please ask any questions that you might have. A standard Marti report will also be included. Thank you and good luck, Curt On Oct-25-10 at 22:04:55 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention that the reserve on this one is very low, in fact probably half what it should sell for, also I can provide a scan of the Marti report if needed which shows that it carries the original exterior hue and interior color, and I have many more pictures available. Thanks, Curt On Oct-26-10 at 03:41:57 PDT, seller added the following information: I tried to list everything but sometimes you forget obvious things. The car is currently equipped with a 351 Cleveland 2bbl motor that looks very correct for the year. Items on it such as the coil EGR valve and carb tag have correct date codes. On Oct-28-10 at 21:02:33 PDT, seller added the following information: once again please don't hesitate to ask for pictures even specific details I will gladly send then to you, also please email me to make arrangements to view and drive the car if at all possible. I want you to see that this is better than just a driver and something proud to own. Thanks, Curt On Oct-31-10 at 03:26:29 PDT, seller added the following information: For all of those wondering the reserve is only $13,000. I will be disappointed if it doesn't sell for closer to twenty though . Happy bidding, Curt
