Vehicle Detail

1984 Porsche 928S Red with black interior This car has a beautiful leather dash that is not stretched. 5 speed trans V8, overhead cam, water cooled, p/s, p/b, p/w, p/l, p/seats, p/sunroof, cruise, all bells and whistles good tread life on tires - Bridgestone's on front, Dunlop's on rear - but right rear is staring to show cracking At 37,550 miles (when I bought the car): Brakes all calipers rebuilt, pads, front slotted rotors, and system flushed (Girling dot-4 fluid) Timing belt and all idlers, tensioner Water pump and thermostat V belts Hoses Cooling system flushed Engine oil flushed and changed Fuel filter, air filter, spark pugs, wires, cap, rotor Trans oil changed w/ BG Syncro-shift Tires balanced Hatch struts replaced 39,950 miles (current mileage) Fires right up, runs strong This is a single exhaust 928S, not dual Passed Ill. emission test after tuneup and timing belt replacement (2002) Hardly any rust on the body - just around right rear side marker - see picture Paint peeling at underside of rear spoiler - see picture Under carriage clean Suspension and steering tight All glass is clean of nicks All electrical and switches work - windows, seats, sunroof, power locks, security system, wipers, headlights, etc. The automatic hatch release is inoperative Driver and passenger seat (centers), though not ripped, need to be stretched and pleated or replaced Carpeting needs to be cleaned Hood struts are weak AM/FM cassette player from the 1990's Minor dings and scuffs on body - right front fender, left rear quarter Right side of car has been repainted - used magnet test, but can't really find any filler - I believe at some point the right front fender was replaced (front inner mud flap is missing) and the body shop just sprayed the whole side of the car Rest of car is factory paint The front lower spoiler in cracked on both ends (normal for this car being driven in Chicago area. In and out of parking garages, etc.) This is a 26 year old car - there are some things that need attention - a/c inop, seats need to have the piping restitched, etc. but overall this car can be driven today. Car has been stored indoors since I purchased it in 2001. I hardly ever drove it, so time to sell it and let someone enjoy it. Gas was drained every fall and tank refilled in spring. Drove around the area 3-4 times a summer. Maybe 50 miles a year. I'm sure there are going to be questions, and I'll answer any REAL one's. I'll post them to this listing. I'll also keep this listing up to date with any information that I think of. Feel free to make an appointment to come by to see and drive her. I will assist with the shipping of the car if needed. You will need to arrange and pay for the service, but I will be here when they come to get and load her. I also have the full set of Factory Porsche manuals and also a Porsche quick reference book for parts that I'll sell for an add'l $200 with the car, if the buyer is interested. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding! On Oct-28-10 at 15:56:25 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: I now have pic's of thee engine compartment and also the undercarriage. There is a pinhole leak on the "y" pipe at a weld I found when I had it up in the air and running. The exhaust system looks to be the original system. The undercarriage is rust free - factory undercoating tight and clean. The gas gauge just started to "stick" at 1/4 tank - take a turn and it's reading again - a can of Chevron cleaner will cure it. Problem is from sitting too much. The picture of the rear underside - the cover over the fuel pump/filter was re-painted (black) when I changed the filter. Otherwise, all original under the car. Any more questions, ask! I am at the 24 pic limit, so any other pictures added I'll have to exchange with ones already up.
