Vehicle Detail
1987 Cutlass Supreme – only 26,000 original miles!! Nice condition 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme – no vinyl top Blue exterior / dark blue interior Rally wheels with new BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires 307 V8 / 4 barrel carb / 3 speed automatic with overdrive Under the hood looks like new. Alternator, hoses, plugs, filters recently replaced. Car starts right up and runs smooth, drives like a new car. Interior is immaculate - 60/40 split bench with column shift. Headliner is completely intact, no ripples, sags, tears. Seats are comfortable, as you would expect from Oldsmobile. Inside trunk is also like new. The first owner was (naturally) an older lady who kept the car in a garage and used it for errands, etc. That accounts for most of the history of the car. In 2007 it was purchased by a neighbor. He appreciated the car for what it is – a beautifully maintained original Cutlass. The car was part of his collection until recently when I purchased it. It is a documented 26,000 mile car – currently reads 26,388 miles. For a 23 year old car it looks very good. It is not perfect – the car has some dings and imperfections. The passenger door appears to have been repainted. The lower section of the trunk lid (the vertical part) also was repainted. The majority of the paint appears to be original and still has a nice shine. A car can be restored over and over but it is original only once. THERE IS NO ROT ON THIS CAR!! That is very hard to find in a mid-80s Cutlass. I have looked at many of these cars and almost every one is rotted (not just surface rust) at the bottom of the doors, the bottom of the quarter panels and front fenders, and inside the trunk where water sits along the sail panel. The main reason I bought this car – with the intention of having it repainted at some point - is because I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on expensive body work, not to mention the time and cost of finding NOS panels. Like I said, the car is not perfect and you should not expect that for a 23 year old car. But this is by far the nicest body on any mid-80s Cutlass that I looked at. Putting aside the collectible qualities of this car, it is a safe reliable vehicle that could likely go over 100,000 miles with only routine maintenance. Would make a great first car.
