CLEAN!! In fact, for a car of this era, it's near perfect. Even the headers shine! One of the few cars deserving of the title, "Everyday Classic". Everyone who sees it asks the same thing... How was it kept so clean? Easy answer: stuck in a garage for a full, 15 years. Looking for a new car? What for?! Who needs those monthly payments in this economy!? Here's your chance to grab a daily driver that is also a classic in its own right! California still writes the book on classics... and THIS is the next one! I believe this is the fabulous 'ST' model. Charming car - and QUICK!! Unbelievably Low miles; everything redone... You can DRIVE it to California for the next meet -- while listening to the NEW Pioneer Sound System. I'll even throw in the standard (manual) tranny if you'd like to try that one some day. REMEMBER: ONLY 43,150 original miles -- on a 1980 car! Has the perky 2.2 L 20R engine. Drives great;engine and transmission have been serviced and have no issues. Interior is clean with no rips or tears in seats or carpets. Dash has a small hole drilled in it that the previous owner was going to add a switch to it for ? who knows what... Comes with a new pioneer CD with remote. History: Car found the car in an older gentleman's basement garage had been sitting for 15 years +. Car has been 'revived', so has a lot of new parts and is ready for the road. .Wheels are off a '84 Celica Supra. Has GREAT 225 60 r 14 cooper cobra tires. NEW: alternator radiator brakes front and rear brake hoses rear shocks carb rebuilt wheel cylinder rear 4 tires engine and trans serviced INSPECTED TO 2011. This car is now bullet-proof and rock-solid. - And whippet quick! (it's faster than some Mustangs) -- with none of the horrible electrical gizmos that screw up the newer cars these days. Good 'ol carbs, roll-up windows, and NO computers. After I drove it I said, "This all the car anyone needs." Read for yourself some other owners' comments: http://www.carsurvey.org/reviews/toyota/celica/1980/ The paint (silver spruce) is new and easy to keep clean. What I absolutely LOVE about this car is is robust presence... I've had too many overly 'prim' classics in my life that required I carry Meguiar's car products around to keep it looking good. This one looks great at all times! There are SLIGHT indents (that have not broken the paint) on driver's door and one other on right front fender. Passenger door eventually may need minor tightening of hinges. It closes now, no problem. I'm just a perfectionist. I don’t like surprises when I buy on line and neither, I suspect, do you. I have explained the car the best I can, but please ask questions until you are satisfied or, better yet -- if you are close enough -- come by for a close-up encounter! Cell phone quickest 312-420-5755 (lv message if cellphone is not with me - will call back asap); second quickest: sthomas407@yahoo.com. Seller maintains the right to terminate the listing if the car sells locally. No need to ship it, will drive to China! Unless you do not have plates... In that case you will have to tow it or register it here on a weekday (NY State almost impossible to get temporary tag if you are from out of state). Nearest DMV office 1/2 hr away.Car located in the Finger Lakes Region of Central NY State, near Interstates 90 and 81 about 35 min SW of Syracuse. (I would consider selling to other country ONLY IF you convince me by phone BEFORE YOU BID that you will take care of ALL shipping details. Otherwise, no deal.) Buyer must be able to pick up car by Saturday (daylight hours) the 30th of Nov. I am gone after that. If you want to pay the storage fees, etc. for keeping it longer with my mechanic, then call to discuss it before you bid. Deposit of $200 required within 24 hours of close of auction via Paypal (or brought to me within that time). Full payment due on following Saturday when you must pick up the car. I've lost items I wanted waiting for the last minute because my computer was either too fast -- giving someone else the last bid -- or else too slow and missing the entire auction! If you really want the car, bid any amount and walk away. You are only charge for the winning bid, and not necessarily the highest figure you put in. (You only have to beat the guy right behind you.) Sold AS-IS but, in this case, AS-IS is GREAT!! On Oct-18-10 at 10:34:37 PDT, seller added the following information: REMEMBER: THIS IS A NO RESERVE ITEM! HERE'S YOUR CHANCE TO STEAL ONE!
