I helped my dear friend and tennis coach buy this off of EBAY a few months ago - he has loved it and pampered it right up until the point in time where I let him tool around in my Boxster S for a few days - after doing so, he decided that he really likes the extra BHP - so he has cajoled me into selling him my "S" and he would like to sell the regular Boxster. This is an original owner car in fantastic condition - please feel free to take a look at the original auction and write up (Item# 250686185722) as this car is unchanged with exception of adding 18 inch BBS factory wheels - they really make the car "pop" and list new for over $3000. Here is the bulk of the write up from the original owner: ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Absolutely fabulous 1998 Porsche Boxster one owner, no stories, non smoker car for sale. I am selling the car for my father-in-law (better location geographically for me given I live in between Baltimore and DC and he has retired to Williamsburg, VA) who has owned the car since it came off the showroom floor. He has been a Porsche man his entire adult life and has recently bought a 911, so he is selling his beloved Boxster. He is 67 years of age, so this car has not been driven hard at all. To the contrary, it has been pampered. It has been garaged its entire life and has never been driven in the winters (read this as it has never seen snow or salt). It is a no stories car (read this as has never been in an accident or had body work done). It is extremely clean inside and out and everything is in working order (all mechanical and electrical elements). The only flaw truly would be a few minor nicks/dings in the body as you would expect with any car that is 12 years old with 70K miles, but you have to look extremely closely to even see them. The convertible top and the leather (two main areas that will typically show the most wear) are both in pristine condition. I also have all the car's accessories and a detailed file of all maintenance work that has been done throughout its life. I urge you to check with Autocheck and CarFax for details. This car scores a 92 on Autocheck where similar vehicles score in the 38 - 80 range. As far as recent work beyond routine maintenance (i.e. oil and filter changes), A new battery was installed 1 1/2 years ago. Finally, the car is wired through the dashboard for a radar detector and a Whistler 1490 is currently mounted in the car and that will be included with the sale of the car as well. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The interior, body and mechanicals are in excellent condition not consistant with the car's age. The top is in like new condition and functions as it should. A high end hard-wired radar detecter also conveys with the car. The only flaws are some small chips or dings the are dificult to see and impoossible to capture in pictures and two outward dings in rear trunk lid as the previous owner must have closed it with something a bit too large inside. As you can see from the previous listing - we were the winning bidder on this car for $10,200 - then we upgraded the wheels - however, our current reserve is less than our winning bid making this an excellent opportunity for the next owner.
