Vehicle Detail
I have for sale my parents' 1977 Caprice Classic. They purchased the vehicle new in 77' and have been the only owners until title was transferred to me upon Dad's death. Here is what I know to be "defects" to the best of my knowledge: The dash has a few weather cracks; the vinyl seats have separated at one seam on the driver's seat as well as the driver's back; there is a small hole near a back speaker chewed by a mouse (mouse is gone, somehow got in trunk and chewed a hole) ; the original paint shows some fading a well as a few dings and scratches; the front side markers are broken; the transmission seems to shift at a higher rpm than I think is normal but does not slip; there appears to be a small engine oil leak (possibly the pan gasket). On the plus side, I have added a rebuilt carburetor, replaced the spark plugs and plug wires, and had the tires rotated and balanced. The car starts and drives quite nicely. There is only some surface rust on the undercarriage and chassis with no rust through at all to the best of my knowledge. This vehicle, in my opinion, has a very solid base for anyone wanting restore it or just use it as a daily driver. I have tried to mention all pertinent information. Please feel free to email or call Dennis at 316-841-5702 and I will be glad to visit with you. Thank You. On Oct-14-10 at 07:14:05 PDT, seller added the following information:The vehicle has the 5.7 liter V-8 with a 4 barrel. I also forgot to mention that the outside mirror has a broken swivel and needs replaced. On Oct-14-10 at 20:18:26 PDT, seller added the following information:I want to add some omitted items. The front bumper is not the original. One end was slightly bent at the same time Dad broke one of the side markers. Rather than have it fixed, I purchased one from a salvage yard. I do have the original and it goes with the vehicle. Also, the cruise has been disconnected. It was this way when I inherited it, so I don't know why. I also have the CD which explains all repairs and overhaul techniques. It is well over 1000 pages and also goes with the car. Thanks. On Oct-18-10 at 09:01:13 PDT, seller added the following information:There was a additional omission that needs stated. The compressor seems to be locked up.
