I am an Ivy League graduate. I am in my mid-30s. I am a serious fellow, and I've been on the national and local TV news giving unpaid and unsolicited financial market commentary; also been in major national newspapers and magazines doing the same. Most recently, I was quoted in AARP magazine. There is nothing being hidden about this car, as so many people do. You don't get 100% positive feedback over 11 years of registration by hiding things. If there is something you should know about this car of which I am aware, it's available to you in the auction. I go out of my way to make sure people are satisfied. Look at my specific feedback...look how the guy who bought the truck recently said, "You can trust Seth with your eyes closed." I work hard to make sure I get comments like that; I don't take it lightly, and it means a tremendous amount to me. I look forward to getting to know you if you'd like me to (or if you'd like to buy the car without me getting to know you, that's OK too!)! The car: You are bidding on a 1987 Mercedes 560 SL. The odometer has stopped working and is stuck at 139,000 miles. It is in running and driving condition. The car has a couple spots of very minor rust here and there -- nothing major...see photos. The floors are solid as are other typical trouble spots. Steering has some looseness in it; probably needs ball joints, or maybe just an alignment. The car is missing its spare wheel, though does have a newish spare tire. There is an aftermarket Alpine stereo, but the sounds coming out of the speakers are not crystal clear. The front tires are worn. Use the photos and videos as your guide. I have not removed the hardtop but the previous owner represented to me that the canvas is in good shape, with no rips or holes, but the clear plastic windows should be replaced as they are milky. I get some oil drips on the floor from the crankcase (not a huge amount), when the car is stored. -- no reserve -- no reserve -- no reserve -- no reserve -- no reserve -- NO MINIMUM BID -- THE TOP BIDDER WINS Use the combination of the photos, videos and text for full disclosure, with more emphasis on the photos and videos as the description is not intended to be exhaustive. As eBay says, a single picture is worth a thousand words. I have been registered on eBay for close to 11 years and have 100% positive feedback. Any questions, message me through the eBay messaging system, and I will answer promptly, or you can call me at (Five-Six-One) Three-76-Two-Two-Seven-Nine. Here is a 15-minute video that is really worth watching if you're serious about the car: The following slideshow automatically displays the first 100 of the ~200 available pictures. That's just a Photo Bucket limitation...to view the rest of them, right-click on the "View all" at the bottom right of the slideshow and select open in new tab or window: AUCTION RULES: Full payment is due within within 7 calendar days of auction ending by either cash in-person or bank wire only. (Once you receive a fraudulent cashier's check from a buyer, you'll never accept another one either!) A $500 deposit by PayPal is due within 24 hours of the auction ending. Pickup is due within 14 calendar days, and may not occur until funds have cleared. Storage for the first 14 days is 100% FREE. There is a storage charge of $150/week beyond 14 days, and is limited to 2 extra weeks (for a total of 4 weeks of storage). You must read the entire auction description, follow the rules, and study each picture and video fully. -- no reserve -- no reserve -- no reserve -- no reserve -- no reserve -- NO MINIMUM BID -- THE TOP BIDDER WINS You can see the AutoCheck score is VERY high, which is an excellent sign -- it's a "76" with the expected range up to only "43" for comparable cars. AutoCheck is owned by Experian, the credit bureau...the score concept they invented is supposed to be like a "credit score" for your car, based on a bunch of factors as compared to the same or similar cars. It is indicated as ABOVE range. You'll notice that the car had an accident in 2005, which AutoCheck refers to as a "non-collision" accident. What is a "non-collision" accident? The previous owner represented to me that was a broken windshield for which she made a claim to her insurance. That makes sense. The windshield and rear glass are both cracked. There are a few specifics from the service records I'd like to share with you. One is that in 2009 the car got 2 front brake rotors, front brake pads, 2 front brake calipers, rear pads and 4 brake sensors -- all for about a $600 bill. I don't think the brakes have much mileage on them at all, as this was not the previous owner's primary car and she said she hardly drove it, which I believe. The radiator was replaced in 2009. The air conditioning is not currently blowing cold, but I see $700 was spent getting the AC and heat worked on in 2004. There is a coverlay installed on the dash; the coverlay itself has cracks. $600~ was spent in 2006 getting a water pump, fan belt, etc. And in 2005 the previous owner spent $2,100 getting the transmission rebuilt and valve body replaced. So, although this car needs some things, it's a solid car -- definitely has had some money poured into it making it a absolutely a worthy candidate for whatever you might choose to do with it. There's also a receipt for the Alpine stereo/speaker install from 2004...that was $450.On Oct-16-10 at 23:56:13 PDT, seller added the following information: Someone asked me whether I offer a warranty on this car. I don't offer any kind of a warranty on anything that I sell, ever, as a matter of policy -- this car is As Is with no warranty.
