FOR SALE: 1971 Buick Riviera - Boat tail Black Exterior - Black Interior - 455 V8 - Power Steering - Power Brakes - Power Window Lots of updated Mechanics - Lots of extra new, like new, and hard to find NOS Parts - Additional LIKE NEW Original Interior - Seats + Dash (not installed) + near perfect front grill ----------------------------------------------------------------- Please read these notes carefully: I have had 2 transactions fall through with this vehicle due to bidders that did not have the money to complete the transaction. PLEASE DO NOT BID ON THIS CAR IF YOU DO NOT ACTUALLY INTEND TO BUY IT. 1. If you bid on this car I require that you contact me before the auction ends to confirm your intent and give me an idea of your pick up arrangements. If you do not contact me I reserve the right to cancel your bid. 2. If you have less than 10 feedback, I will cancel your bid unless you contact me first. 3. The pictures in this ad were taken approx 2 years ago. You can see the primer starting to show in the pictures, but the paint has worn significantly more since then. I may not be able to get updated pictures so I want to clear up front. ----------------------------------------------------------------- CLICK ON ANY BLUE TEXT BELOW TO VIEW ADDITIONAL PICTURES I bought this car in 2004 to restore it. Alot of work has been done to it, but cosmetically there is still much to do. I have spent a ton of time on fixing up and locating parts and it kills me to part with it, but I simply do not have the time or money to complete this project. I was driving this almost every day in nice weather for the first couple years I had it. I really wanted to get to know its quirks, and enjoy it. The 455 V8 engine runs very well. Starts right up, has a lot of power. I've had it tuned and rebuilt the carb. Even in obvious need of a proper paint job, it turns heads everywhere you go. Frame is straight and solid. Odometer reads 79,000, but has most likely flipped. Over the last few years of parts hunting, I found a near mint condition original black interior on a 71 Riviera that's body had been totaled. Believe me, this is a very hard thing to find. Included in this auction are LIKE NEW original seats, dash board, and various other interior pieces. I am also including a near perfect front grill in addition to the one on the car. The paint is horrible, the guy I bought it from gave it a "quickie" and that was over 4 years ago. Needless to say the paint is wearing off everywhere. There is a bad spot on the driver's rear 1/4, where someone did a fibergalss job and never smoothed it out. Other than that, there really isn't too much rust on the body. Needs to be stripped, spot touched/filled and repainted.. will look 1000x better after this !! When I ripped out the interior, I found that the floor pans are in pretty bad shape. Particularly the rear floor and under the rear seat. Rusted right thru in a couple places. I did find a fabricator that makes repros of the floor pans for this model and I can forward his info to you. The rest of the interior is in decent shape PLUS I have a ton of misc. extra pieces out of a near mint interior. Headliner torn in one place, rear passenger side. The power windows all work, or have worked very recently. I bought a set of 4 rebuilt window motors because I was having someone work on the doors and windows. I had him replace, or work on all 4 windows to try to get a smooth operation out of everything, along with installing new window felts and weather stripping. When I got it back from him, I noticed a couple of the polarities were reverse (up went down / down went up), and a couple were slower in going up and down. By the time I got back around to bring it back to the guy he was no longer around. Then I looked in the box of parts and I am not convinced he installed all of the rebuilt motors. So this is something you will have to address. There are four motors installed and four additional motors in the parts pile, you will have to figure out which are best. Here is a list of things I have fixed since I bought it in 2004 - 2004 rear brakes + brake lines master cylinder heater core washer pump wiper motor radiator cylinder gaskets 2005 battery + battery cables power steering bearings / spindle front left fuel pump carburator rebuild 2006 front breaks left tie rod idler arm center link alternator starter weather strip window motors ****Here is a list of extras I am including with the sale of the car. Most of these items take a lot of time and patience to locate. I could make way more money if I sold each item seperately (I know because that's how I bought them!!) ... but I just dont have the time for that. I want to sell everything as a package. All these pieces are in addition to what is already on the car, in most cases in much better condition. I linked as many pictures as I could, sorry I don't have pics of everything. [Click part name to view pic] 1971 Buick Chassis Service Manual 1971 Fisher Body Service Manual Front Grill - all posts intact, near perfect, minor chip on front top rail VERY hard to find Dashboard - black, near perfect, crack near defroster vent VERY hard to find Front Seats - both sides - incredible condition VERY hard to find Rear Bench seat - incredible condition VERY hard to find Seatbelts - great shape - even the tags dont show wear - complete 7 belt set VERY hard to find Sun Visors - both sides - original, incredible condition VERY hard to find Door handles - both sides: these have some minor pitting but are in pretty nice shape Headlight Bezels - both sides - minor pitting but are in pretty nice shape NOS turn signal arm - like new NOS tilt wheel arm - like new Dash Clock Switches - Heater controls, wiper switch, headlight switch - all in great shape Rear window trim pieces - interior + exterior Package tray + trim - (rear "dashboard", under rear window) Hood realease handle + cable front seat ash tray - black metal in great shape, chrome has a little corrosion, but not too bad rear ash trays - both sides: some pitting Door panel - interior right side Rear panels - interior both sides - great condition Wiper Arms - both sides - good shape (3) additional buick rally wheels - fair condition (4) Window motors - rebuilt .... other misc extras ..... I have done my best to accurately describe the condition of this vehicle. For a car that is 37+ years old it is in really good, restorable shape. I have already hunted down a lot of the hard to find pieces and am including them with the sale of this car. If you have any questions please contact me. I can not guarantee anything on this car due to its age. This car is absolutely sold "AS IS". There is way too much here to ship, pick up only unless you make ALL shipping arrangments. Please contact me before bidding if this is something you want to look into. Do not bid on this vehicle if you do not have funds immediately available to pay. Balance is due immediately... (within 48 hours) On Oct-11-10 at 05:52:21 PDT, seller added the following information: **** I noticed a couple of the links are not opening when you click them, these links should work: Dashboard - black, near perfect, crack near defroster vent VERY hard to find Front Seats - both sides - incredible condition VERY hard to find Rear Bench seat - incredible condition VERY hard to find Seatbelts - great shape - even the tags dont show wear - complete 7 belt set VERY hard to find also listed at: http://antagonyst.com/riviera/ On Oct-11-10 at 17:22:30 PDT, seller added the following information: *** In question #2 below I meant to say it HAS the floor console shifter. (not had...) I disassembled much of the interior when I bought the new interior. When I saw that welding work was needed on the floor pans, I did not reassemble everything. The floor pans were going to be my next step, but I ran out of money. I do have all of the parts that I disassembled, as well as the new parts that are listed. So there are doubles on a lot of interior pieces.
