hello! lots to tell about this car, many other pictures available to those with serious interest. this is a 53 ford convertible from california with clear california title, car is at my house in litchfield, ohio. i have been piddling with it for a couple years and would like to see someone get her finished up. the car is rust free except one small hole at the gas pedal. it was an abandoned project car bought at an auction i was told. the car has a victoria body. the convertible componets were extremely well put on the victoria body. you might not even have noticed when you see it but i play honestly. it has the correct matching convertible x frame that matches the convertible title. all the convertible parts are correctlly installed such as quarter windows runs, etc. i have the outside windshield trim in place, the top latching pins are in place and latch system works great. there are no cylinders or top motor included but all set up for installation. very nice roof assembly that works well by hand. needs painted and top etc. the cars body has been stripped of paint and you see how rust free it is, hiding nothing here. when i bought it i was told the flathead was built with some speed equipment. its the most awesome running flathead i have ever heard. automatic trans shifts smoothly in and out of gear. has all new brake system including lines. mechanically i really feel its set. yard drives excellent, needs exhaust, has headers and it sounds mean. there is a set of new 6.70 15 firestones on it. one has checked from sitting. all the tinted glass is still really nice, the windshield will need installed with new rubber. the car has a new original wiring harness under the dash,and out to the regulator and seleonoid. it will need the smaller harnesses yet, tailights front and back lights etc. it does have crude but working light harness now. the car starts off the key and is charging. included is a new weatherstrip kit for the top assembly. i will now discribe what it needs and is missing. if i miss something its not on purpose. sunvisor brackets, availabe from carpenter. 90.00. needs the left and right inside windshield garnish mouldings. i really dont have any 53 side trim. the body bolts were removed and needs new bolts andrubber spacer kit. the grille halves are pictured. i loosely bolted the 54 grill in there, have a 54 parts car and have included the dash and misc trim with it, check pics. needs 53 turn signal housings. some obvious things missing such as 53 radio, heater controls. nice bumpers on car need plated. will need all emblems, hood bird,trunk bird etc. some of the convertible stainless will need dent removal but is all there. will need complete interior. the car is still a project, obviously. but the body is outstanding not needing much, and the drivetrain is excellent. please ask all the questions you need. plent of pics to send underneath. its rustfree there also. come look and here it run, drive it round the yard! there is the 54 parts car here if you would like anything else for the car. thanks!
