Most recently, I was quoted in AARP magazine. There is nothing being hidden about this car, as so many people do. You don't get 100% positive feedback over 11 years of registration by hiding things. If there is something you should know about this car of which I am aware, it's available to you in the auction. I go out of my way to make sure people are satisfied. I work hard to make sure I get comments like that; I don't take it lightly, and it means a tremendous amount to me. The car: You are bidding on a 1999 Cadillac DeVille with an unusually low 39,100 miles. The car runs and drives absolutely fantastically with no issues. The dashboard has shrunken from sitting in the sun -- all Cadillac dashboards of this vintage have shrunken a bit if they've been exposed to the sun. This is an 11 year old car and there are nicks and scratches. The paint is in excellent shape. The car has had sun exposure (otherwise the dash wouldn't have shrunken); and you may want to replace the dash. The seats are in excellent condition and the leather is supple, and and the rest of the interior is extremely nice as well...door panels, rear window sill...none were effected as the dashboard was. Maybe it was a defective dashboard? Or maybe the sun hit only the dashboard the way it was situated in the car port? Included is the purchase accounting documentation that was worked up by Ed Morse Bayview Cadillac from when the family bought it in 2000. They paid a bit more than $27,000 back then and it had around 10,000 miles. It was hardly ever driven in the last 10 years. The steering wheel is flaking a bit, and the tires have some dry cracks -- I tried to capture photos of that. From the time that I've driven the car, it seems to me the fuel gauge is not accurate, so the sender for the guage is probably dirty and needs to be cleaned. It's so unusual to find a DeVille with low miles. This is really the one you've been waiting for. All lights are working, but I think the auto-on feature of the headlights is not working, or maybe I just haven't figured out how to use it. The automatic climate control air conditioning is working and blowing cold. Cruise control works. Dashboard lights all work. Power seats both work. Stereo works. Antenna works. Clean ashtray, and no signs of cigarette smoking. The car is completely reliable and I would not hesitate to drive it cross-country, right now. It is about 15-minutes long and worth watching. At a certain point, I introduce myself and start describing the car in the video, which is worthwhile to hear. I had another video (#2), but the video file data was damaged and it will not play, but this video has everything that one had. In reviewing the video just now in preparation to post it here, it jogged my memory about something...I never checked the accuracy of the fuel guage which I know is a common issue among these cars. I would have liked to have gone through an entire tank of fuel to test it out, but, alas, I didn't do that so I can't vouch for its precise accuracy... The flickering in the video is from the the video camera making them appear to flicker when they are not actually flickering.
