Vehicle Detail
I have decided to sell my 1970 AMX, and put the money in my 1969 Coronet R/T. This is a nice AMX. I bought the car because i like the colors combo. The door tag, I am sure is reproduction, which did not matter to me at all. It is a correct door tag, with correct 1970 rivits. The door tag mainly states the color of the car, which is showing this code of 4A-08. Big bad green, with black shadow mask. If the code is or was correct, it is 1 of 74 with this color, and even rarer with shadow mask. I looked the car over very well, as did a few guys from a local amc club. A couple thought it was green, the other did not know. I am not trying to pass it off as an original Big bad green, so know that 1st. There is alot of green under the undercoating, and in hard to reach spots, so someone went to alot of work on the car. The vin on the car matches door tag of A0M397X. This states A-american 0-1970 model M-4 speed transmission 9-2 door hardtop 7-body style-AMX X-390 4 bbl. This is an original 390 4 speed car. The valve cover tag says.211x12.This is one of 901 390 4 speeds made this year. There were only 4116 AMX's made in 1970, compared to 6725 in 1968, and 8293 in 1969. Pretty rare car. I has a 1968 GTO-which they made about 75,000 that year. The car has the 390 in it with about 700 miles on it, power brakes, manual steering, locking differential, chrome magnum 500's with bfg t/a's/, disc brakes, drivers remote mirror. the car runs very nice, and fast. It is alot faster than my 340 challenger, 440 coronet rt and our ss 396 chevelle. It is probably the best running car, next to my 1969 gtx 440 trac pac car. It pulls hard, and shifts very smooth. It has won awards at the last 2 shows i was at. The engine has a mild cam, with roller rockers, stock exhaust manifolds and a edlebrock carb. The driveshaft was also rebuilt and balanced. The exhaust has flow masters and it sounds very nice. The past owner ha some of the Ram Air parts , but not much. I will pass them on also. The interior is brand new Legendary. The seats cost $700.00 for the covers only. New carpet, headliner, door panels, and wood dash face. The dash pad is the only thing that may need replacing, as it is pulling up in the front, not cracked, and still very flexible. Front bumper is new,Original Hurst shifter and ball. This is probably the tightest best shifting 4 speed i have owned. Rear end I believe is a 3:54 twin grip. The grill from what previous owner told me is he paid $1500.00 for it as a new old stock.Fuel speedometer, and temp gauge work, tach jumps around, like maybe a ground? Dash lights work, as do signals, and brake lights. The only thing I noticed is when headlights are on, both signal lights glow on the dash, but they all work fine, just being honest about everything. The paint, the previous owner told me took quite some time, and looks nice. This is the correct shade of 1970 BIG BAD GREEN, with correct texture shadow mask, even with small silver stripe. There is 2 spots of rust on floor pan, on both sides under and behind front seats. Trunk has 2 spots around a bolt on both sides also. The body looks great on the car, and i thing there is some body filler behind both rear wheels, but look to be the original 1/4 panels. i did not feel or see any seems. The things I know it could use or need-- rear bumper re-chromed, Inside drivers door panel remote mirror trim, signal dash lights figured out, and ram air parts, drivers door minor adjustment. IF YOU WANT AN AMX THAT IS GREAT FOR DRIVING AND SHOWS, THIS IS IT!! IT IS NOT A 100 POINT CAR, OR A $40,000.00 CAR, BUT NOT A RUSTY UN RUNNING AUTOMATIC FOR $10,000.00 EITHER. 4 SPEEDS BRING 20-25% MORE THAT AUTOMATICS. THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE WHO KNOWS MORE THAN SOMEONE ELSE, AND I AM SURE I WILL HEAR FROM THEM, BUT I ALSO HAVE HAD ENOUGH CARS TO KNOW SOMEWHAT OF WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. CHECK MY FEEDBACK, AND KNOW THAT WHAT IS DESCRIBED, IS WHAT YOU WILL WIN, NOT SOME 2 LINE DESCRIPTION. THE RESERVE WILL BE UNDER $15,000.00, AND I WILL INCLUDE A BUY IT NOW, BUT ONCE RESERVE IS MET, IT WILL GO AWAY. I ALSO HAVE CAR FOR SALE LOCAL. IF YOU HAVE LESS THAN 10+ FEEDBACKS, YOU MUST E-MAIL BEFORE BIDDING, OR I WILL CANCEL YOUR BID!!! CLEAR COLORADO TITLE IN MY NAME, INSURED THROUGH HAGERTY, AND GARAGED IN A CLIMATE CONTROLLED BUILDING. PLEASE ASK ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS!! I CAN STORE THE CAR FOR 1 MONTH FREE, AFTER THAT $75.00 PER MONTH. Please make sure you have approval to buy car or have the funds before bidding. Hitting the buy-it-now by mistake is not a mistake!! It goes through 2 processes to make it happen. Thanks!!!
