Vehicle Detail

2003 Honda Odyssey EXL for Parts This vehicle treated us well for over 175,000 miles with minimal problems. The transmission is going, so we bought a new Odyssey a few months ago and it has been sitting in the driveway. It still starts up and runs. However, the only thing that might be mint in this van could be a crushed Junior Mint in the back seat. Here are the major problems. Transmission is going. Would not recommend even driving it away unless you are a cowboy and like bucking broncos as that is what it sometimes feels like out of nowhere when you drive down the road. Doesn’t seem like reverse has much life in it at all. Windshield wipers turn on fine, but they do not shut off. You need to shut off the vehicle to make them stop and at such time they will stay off when you restart the van. The driver’s side cable to the back door became jammed and is now broken (kids). The snapped cable actually pokes out from the rear door. We just used the one back door for the past six months. Car was in one accident around six years ago when my wife was cut off in a rotary by an irrational lady convinced she had the right of way. Damage was done requiring a new driver’s seat door was all. I would not buy this vehicle unless you need it for parts or you are a mechanic that can put in another transmission for short money. Body is in pretty good shape, but the kid’s presence is more than apparent throughout the interior of the vehicle. I did not clean it thoroughly, so consider it be in as is condition after six years of exposure to children. It needs a serious carpet cleaning. Tires are Michelin Hydroedge All Seasons with some tread life left in them. Two of them were put on about 40,000 miles ago. We had our time with this vehicle and just want someone to make the most of what life it or its’ parts have left. This van has been an integral part of our family for many memories and while my kids hate to see it go it is time to get it out of the driveway. We will not be shipping it in the mail, so you will need to make arrangements to pick it up locally. We want the buyer to be happy with their purchase. If you are not satisfied, let me know what you think is fair when you pick the vehicle up. This is an as is vehicle for parts. Do not buy this thinking you will drive it down the road. It needs work.
