Vehicle Detail
Hi, I'm selling my 1993 Lexus LS400. It has 145,170 miles on it. To start off, I'm the 2nd owner of the car and it has been kept in impeccable condition by me and the previous owner (all the work I’ve done on the car is below). I’ve owned the car for 3+ years now and bought it from the original owner. As for the ride, the car runs smooth as silk and is a true Lexus. The LS400 engines are Toyota’s famous V8 1UZFE engines which are known to last literally 500,000 miles. The transmission shifts flawlessly. There are NO check engine lights on. Here some other features of the car: Cruise Control, Power Locks, Power Steering, Bucket Seats, Leather Interior, Memory Seats, Power Seats, Airbag: Driver, A/C: Front, Airbag: Passenger, Alarm, Anti-Lock Brakes, Fog Lights, Power Windows, Rear Window Defroster, Tinted Glass, Alloy Wheels, Sunroof/Moonroof I was planning on keeping this car literally till the end of time because they are built like a tank (and that is why I did all the maintenance below), but life has other plans and I’m moving and won’t be needing the car. Here’s the work I’ve done on the car since owning it: 1. Air filters changed every 10,000 miles. 2. Thermostat and coolant temperature sensor. 3. Tire rotations every 6000 miles. 4. Fuel Filter 5. Transmission flush and fill. 6. Tires now have 50% tread left. 7. Oil and filter changes every 3000 miles - religiously. 8. Tune-up which consisted of the PCV valve, spark plugs(NGK), spark plug wires(NGK), distributor, rotors and throttle body clean. 9. Front and Rear brake pads are new. Rotors didn’t need to be changed because they were in good shape. 10. Awsome Kenwood KDC-138 stereo system. 11. I replaced a lot of the window switches because they were not working. All 4 doors’ window switche work flawlessly now. The previous owner from what I remember did the following: 1. Mass air flow sensor 2. Front and lower ball joint 3. Reseal water pump 4. New steering pump 5. Fuel Pump 6. Valve clearance check 7. Differential oil change. Honestly, I really hate to sell this car after so much attention and detail to it but I really have no other choice. In addition, all the work above was done as preventative maintenance, not because the car needed it, but just that I'm very particular about automobile maintenance. With any car of this age, there will be some flaws. I won't say this car is perfect. But on a scale of 0 - 10, I would rank it an 8. Here are 3 things that need to be looked at: 1. Air conditioning does not work. I have not looked into the issue as to why it doesn't work. 2. The dash board lights in the morning when it is a little chili/cold out do not come on immediately when you start the car. There is a delay for sometime before they flicker on. A lot of early Lexus models have this issue. But when it is warm during the daytime there are no issues. 3. There is some slight rust on the car. The most noticeable spot is right above the driver side tire. I can send a photo if you like. There is also some scratches on the front bottom bumper and rear bumper. Also there are a few nick nacks on the hood. But nothing out of the ordinary for a car of this age. Also nothing that needs to be looked at immediately or would effect the performance of the car. I never really payed any attention to the 3 things above because I'm more concerned about the engine running smoothly and getting me from point A to B. ;) Also on the history report by AutoCheck which is provided by eBay above there is a mention of an accident. I honestly do not know the details about it except that it was a minor fender bender. The car has not had any performance or driving issues from that. And come to think of it, I have not had a single issue with the car since I've owned it. I'm asking $3,500, but open to reasonable offers. Lastly, if you want more pics or have any questions please call or email. My number is 630-930-4409. Thanks! Terms of Sale: Vehicle is sold as-is.
