Vehicle Detail
This was the last year Cadillac produced this classic vehicle - with 500 cubic inches of cast iron American muscle. Rebuilt 4 barrel Quadrajet, with 2 small barrels for great (relatively speaking) fuel economy and 2 extra large barrels for the get up and go mode. Front wheel drive, so it should be great in snow with thousands of pounds of weight over the front tires. Brand new, professionally installed top. New battery, new alternator, new front shocks, new steering damper shock, new rear air shocks, new tail pipe, new fuel pump, new wiper blade, new fluids and a Pennsylvania Inspection sticker. Body is straight - never damaged, but a small amount of rust starting to bubble through wheel well area. This caddy has been in the family for over 30 years, but with the death of its owner I must finally sell the car to close the estate. It was kept in a garage and used only for fun, so the low milage is original and NOT 176,000 miles. Documentation available, as well as repair manuals, owners manual, and a clear title now in my name. As with any car of this age, there are some "issues" yet to be repaired, most of which are relatively minor and not expensive to repair if you like working on cars. Examples of things that do not work are the clock, radio, motorized antenna, air conditioning, windshield washer fluid pump, and map light. There are cracks in the vinyl arm rests on the doors. The most difficult issue to tackle is a worn rear main crankshaft bearing seal, as there is a small leak at the rear of the engine and occasional rattle when first starting car until the oil starts circulation. I just don't have the time to drop the pan and correct the issue prior to cold weather. Does not smoke out of exhaust or burn oil, but rear main oil seal and oil pan gasket should be replaced and are included for FREE! Also included is a custom, full size car cover, for the winter, in case it does not fit in your garage. I have new carpet ready to be installed, but was waiting until I removed the front seats to have them recovered. Back seat leather seats are pristine. If you attended the Hershey Antique Auto Show last week and were shocked at the prices or disappointed in the selection, then perhaps here is a car that will cure your let down :)
