Vehicle Detail
Hello and thank you for checking out our auction. This car belongs to the First Christian Church of Fort Dodge, Iowa. A little over a year ago it was donated to us by one of our members to use as a fundraiser for the church. That's when I got involved. I brought it home and rebuilt the carbeurator, put new tires on it, installed new points, condensor, cap, and rotor. The gentleman who donated it had redone all of the brakes just a couple of years ago. It has 383 with a four barrel carbeurator and an automatic transmission. As far as I can tell the rest of the car is all original. The engine runs very well as it should for only 39,XXX miles being on it, but it has not been on the road for a few years so it smells like bad gas when it's running. I went outside this evening to go to the garage and see exactly how many miles are on the car, but I had to abandon the task because there was a skunk outside. It's over 39K, but less than 40K. Here's what I know as far as what the car has wrong with it. One of the hubcaps is not like the others. One wheel stud on the front driver's side has broken off. Both sides have many paint chips in the paint, but it still looks good for paint that's 44 years old. The right rear door wont' open. I think the mechanism is dry and stuck, but I don't know. The seats aren't in the best condition. As you can see the seams have let go a couple of places on the front driver's seat and the top of the rear seat has split open. The original antenna was replaced with an aftermarket one sometime in the past. I don't know if you can see from the pictures, but the roof has a small dent on the right side and the driver's rear quarter panel has a crease in it. I also noticed that it looks like there are a couple of small dents in the top of the passenger rear quarter panel. They look similar to small hail dents. There is an aftermarket fuel guage installed under the dash. I don't know why. The car was originally an Arizona car. I don't know how many years it's been in Iowa. I don't know anything about shipping a car, but am willing to assist in any way I can. Thank you for looking and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to write. Our church would also like to thank Paul for such a generous donation.
